Gift Card Holder for a Guy

We all know that you can use ribbon on cards for girls right?  Of course, its great for holidays and babies.  You can even squeeze it in on kid's cards now and then.  But how about those cards we need to make for all the guys on our lists?  Today, I'm going to show you that you can.  So grab your 3 Girl JAM Harvest Orange ribbon and come play along.

I wanted to make a little card that I could tuck a gift card into.  I pulled out my Cricut Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart and cut this little card at 3" using the card feature and the "j" key.  I pulled a brown sheet of 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock from my stash.  Since I had everything loaded, I went ahead and cut 2 cards out at the same time.  Now I have a card to use later.

I pulled a piece of paper from the MME "Fine and Dandy" 6X6 pad and cut a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 7/8" for the back and a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 5/8" for the front.  I then found my "Happy Messages" stamp set from Stampendous and stamped the sentiment using CTMH's Autumn Terracotta pigment ink on a piece of scrap paper from my stash.  I trimmed it close to the sentiment and adhered it to a piece of leftover brown cardstock.  I used the same ink pad to ink around the edges of all the light pieces.

2 small pieces of Harvest Orange 3GJ ribbon were cut and adhered to the front and back of the card with little dots of Glossy Accents and then the decorative paper was adhered over the top of the ribbon using my ATG gun.

To finish off the inside, I tucked a Burger King card into the little cut out pieces.  A small piece of ATG on the back of the card will keep it from slipping.  I inked around the edges of a second piece of scrap paper to give me a place to write my message.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Don't forget that there is an "Anything Goes" challenge over at 3 Girl JAM.  I'm going to link up.

3 Girl JAM Challenge #9 - Anything Goes

Welcome to Challenge #9 - Anything Goes (with a ribbon).

We are being sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps and there's a great prize up for grabs.  You can find great digital images as well as clear acrylic stamps on their website.  Ready to play along?
I used 2 different stamp sets from Clear Dollar Stamps ("New Butterfly" and "Elegant Accents") and and mixed it with some pretty "Iris" 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make my card.

I used the following other items as well:
PaperTrey Ink - Plum Pudding, Stamper's Select White, and Vintage Cream card stock.
Prismacolors (Still need lots of practice here)
DCWV - Lavender Chateau Matstack
Dusty Concord Distress Ink
Crystal Stickles
Glossy Accents

I really like the way this card turned out.  I made it for a special friend and I'm really looking forward to getting it over today.  Thanks for stopping by today and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

12 Days of Christmas Tags Announcement

Hello.  I'm so glad you decided to stop by today.  I trust you had a wonderful Christmas and spent time celebrating our Savior's birth.  I must admit that I had a great time, but it was not without its challenges.  To begin with, I worked around 40 hours from the 21st -23rd.  I woke up on Christmas Eve pretty sick and ended up visiting my Dr.'s office.  I then worked 6 hours on Christmas morning.  Feeling much better, I was able to have a delicious lunch (much of which was fixed by my great daughter).  I was back to work today and have 2 more shifts this week.

I have decided that since I was unable to post the last 2 tags in time for you to link up, that I will extend the deadline.  You may now link your tags until Midnight on January 1.  I know that there are more tags ready to be linked and I don't want anyone to miss out.  I will plan to choose a winner on January, 1 and post it sometime late that day.
Thanks for your patience.  I trust you have a great day.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things,

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Days 11-12

I had planned for these to be finished by Christmas Eve.  Life happened and I didn't make it.  I want to post the videos quickly.  I will choose a random winner in the next couple of days.  Thanks for putting up with the crazy posting schedule.

Don't forget to link up a tag for the prize. To clarify - the tag or tags you link up do not have to follow the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  Maybe next year I will limit it to this, but I feel that if I am limiting it to this theme, we should have started at the 1st of the month to allow you time to plan who you were going to give your little surprises to.  I want to see LOTS of tags this year though, so I can't wait to see what you make.  I am going to be linking my own tags to make it easier for you to click quickly on to scroll through the 12 days.

Rules -
1. Link up your tag. (Please no back-linking)
2. Be a follower.

I am also linking this tag to the 3 Girl JAM Christmas Inspiration Challenge.
Thanks for stppping by and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things today.

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 9

It's back to work for me today.  I can't believe how fast the last few days flew by.  I didn't even come close to accomplishing what I needed to, so I'm going to be burning the midnight oil to get done.  I think all my shopping except for the miscellaneous food item is complete.  My kids have been banned from my bedroom though because I have presents to wrap.  I also have lots of things to make.  Let's start with the next tag - #9 and do some blending with Distress Inks.

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 7

Have you ever just had "one of those days"?  Well today, was kind of like that for me.  I will apologize as there is not a video for Tag #7.  I accidentally deleted it when I went to copy it.  OOOPS!  It turned out cute too.  I can give you a picture though.

I distressed around the edges with Iced Spruce distress ink.  I used Barn Door and Stormy Weather Distress Markers Along with a water brush pen to "watercolor" the snowman.  I used Barn Door distress ink to stamp Merry Christmas and then ran over it with the water brush pen to give it the look of water coloring.  Crystal stickles finished off the look.  Other things I used include:

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day #2

"On the second day of Christmas my true love brought to me, 2 turtledoves...."  Now that I have that song in your head, we can move onto the crafting.  Today's tag is pretty simple.  I really like the vintage feel of this one.  I think the recipient will as well.  It is already sitting on her doorstep waiting for her to find it (with the gift of course).

3 Girl JAM ribbon is definitely my go-to ribbon for crafting and this tag was no exception.  I grabbed Halloween Harvest because I liked the hints of red and green peeking through the gold.  It was the perfect compliment to the tag.  I also used the following items:

DCWV - The Christmas matstack
PaperTrey Ink - Vintage Cream card stock
Black cardstock from my stash cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at 1.5" and coated with Glossy Accents
Ranger #8 tags
Recollection Bling
Frayed Burlap Distress Ink
Crystal Stickles
Saying from here.

Don't forget to link up a tag for the prize.  I received my ScrapbookSteals.com order today and decided to change the giveaway pad of paper to MME - Christmas Wish.  In a few days, I will show you some of the rest of the goodies the prize winner will receive.  While some will be Christmas themed, there will also be other goodies.

Cake Birthday Card

As much as I love getting ready for Christmas, I still have a lot of birthdays in the month of December.  One day this month I had 4 family birthdays (of course a set of twins in there increases the number of birthdays).  Anyway, it is definitely time to pull out the birthday sets.

For this card I used the Basic Grey "Life of the Party" 6X6 inch paper pad and rub-ons.  I also used Stampendous' "Happy Messages" stamp set with jet black Archival ink.  There is a hint of Victorian Velvet distress ink as well.  The scalloped border was punched using the Fiskars "scalloped sentiment" punch.  I hand cut the sentiment "borders".

It was a very simple card that is already on the way to its little owner.  I hope she likes it.  Please enjoy the video.

Christmas ATC's

Hello everyone.  Welcome to another post for 3 Girl JAM.  I must say that I really like today's project.  I designed a new ATC for a swap over at Craft Happens.  I think that the ATC swaps are among my favorite to participate in.  One of the reasons that I like ATC's so much is that they go together very quickly.  So pull out some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, your favorite Christmas paper and stamps and lets get started.

You are going to need a few more supplies.  Here's what I used:
3 Girl JAM - Goblin Green ribbon
Anna Griffin Calisto Christmas paper and cardstock pads
Antique linen distress ink
Tim Holtz Joyful Song stamps
Clear embossing powder
CTMH ink pads - Ruby and Ponderosa Pine
K & CO - Poinsettia and Holly Berry dimensional stickers
Tim Holtz Christmas Muse tokens
American Crafts glitter tape
Charms - (I got mine from eBay)
Chipboard cut to 2.5" X 3.5"

In the video, I show you the different products I used as well as tell you how I made them.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Check back soon for more projects and ideas.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Gold metallic paint (Folk Art in pure gold)
Scraps of paper (I used Calisto Christmas by Anna Griffen)
Mod Podge
Glitter glue (Clear from Studio G)

I have a fun project to share with you today.  Have you seen the stickpins that are out there?  I really like them and I also enjoy making them.  In today's video, I show a completed set of stickpins as well as a tutorial on how to make the holder.

The pins were made using beads that I purchased from Joann's, Michaels, and Walmart.  I used Coordinations card stock for the base of my ornament and DCWV's "The First Noel" stack for the decorative element.  These were cut at 3" using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  You will have to watch the video to see how these little pin holders work.

Every neat project should also have great packaging, so I placed my holders in clear cellophane bags and taped the back with tape from Recollections.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Now I know that we are all busy getting ready for Christmas, as well as just living our lives.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things!

Baby Girl Card

Good morning everyone.  As I mentioned in my last post, I have been swamped with stuff that had to be done as well as at work.  I am also working on projects that will be posted at later dates, so thanks for hanging in there with me.  Today I have a super simple card that I made for a sweet baby girl.  Let's get started.

Here's what I used:
CTMH - Frames, Tags, and Borders stamp set
DCWV Nana's Kids Matstack
Pink cardstock - Recollections Soda Pop pack
Ranger - Archival Black ink
"It's a Girl" Cuttlebug set - umbrella
American Crafts glitter tape - Pink and green
Corner Chomper - 3/8"
Victorian Velvet distress ink
Fiskars 2" round punch

I really like how easy it was to make this little 4X4 card.  If' your interested in seeing how I did it, be sure to watch the video below.

Fall Thank You

Happy Thanksgiving 3 Girl JAMmers.  This is Cheri from DJ's Sundries.  I have so much to be thankful for and I love celebrating this holiday.  I trust you do too.  I have a little inspiration for you if you're not too busy eating turkey leftovers.

But first... have you checked out the current challenge over on the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog?  It's a color challenge and you should really link a project.  I'll be linking this one.  You will be able to link your project at the bottom of this post.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have a thank you note for you today.  Now I must admit, that I just didn't sit down at my desk and decide to make a thank you note on the day I made this.  It actually came about as I was putting scraps away from my 3 Girl JAM challenge project.  I needed a thank you note and knew that I could use the leftover pieces from the Cutting Cafe and make a quick card.  I used the Merlot 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make my little medallion.

Here are the items I used:
Merlot ribbon - 3 Girl JAM
Coordinations "leaf" smooth textured paper
Kraft cardstock
"With Gratitude" set from the Cutting Cafe
Red paper from my stash

Be sure to watch the video to see how I made the little medallion.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to take some time to enjoy the little things today.

Days of Thanks - November 19, 2012

Boy have I been swamped!  I haven't had much time to post over the past few days, but I am still very thankful.  Some of the things that I've been specifically thankful for the last few days...

.............My kid's youth group and leaders
..............A job
............... Good health
...............Silly Siblings

Life is good and God is great!  What are you thankful for today?

Pink and Blue Altered Clipboard

Today I have a fun project that I made for my niece.  I have been swamped trying to get ready for Thanksgiving as well as preparing Christmas gifts for those family members I will be seeing over Thanksgiving.  (You have to save on shipping when you can, right?)

To make this I used a small clipboard, some washi tape, 3 Girl JAM "Pink and Blue" bundle, Cricut Mini Monograms, and scrap from my stash.  I used some ruby ink from CTMH to ink around the monogram edges.

Here's the video along with a quick crafty tip.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to take a few minutes to enjoy the little things.

Mini Thank You Notes

Welcome to another challenge on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge Blog.  I have a really simple little card for you today, but first lets talk about the current challenge.

3 Girl JAM Challenges

We are being sponsored by the Cutting Cafe.
The Cutting Cafe

This week's challenge is a Thanksgiving Color Challenge using ribbon.
Isn't this a beautiful color palette?   Be sure to link up your Thanksgiving project for a chance to win a prize.

Now to my project.  I decided to make a very simple little card for you today.  Why simple?  Because I wanted to show you how easy it is to use the images at the Cutting Cafe (and because I made 60 cards).  I grabbed some Coral Crush and Witches Brew ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  I also grabbed this printable set from the Cutting Cafe and was ready to start.

I also used Kraft cardstock from JoAnn's and green cardstock by Coordinations from JoAnn's.  I re-sized the circles to 1.7" on my computer and used the one that was all black.  I then printed the background paper in color.  The scallops were cut with Elegant edges at 2".  If you watch the video, you will see a couple of other versions of the card.

Now it's your turn.  Are you ready to take the challenge?  If so, link up below!

I am also linking to these challenges:
