2019 Documented December

Image
Christmas is my most favorite time of the year.  I love this season where we celebrate the birth of our Savior.  Do you know Him?  He wants to be your Savior too. I have a few goals for this Christmas season: Celebrate and focus on Jesus Focus on my husband Focus on my friends Enjoy the little things Document it all To accomplish this, I have created a journal using a the wonderful "Nordic Woods" kit from Cocoa Daisy.  I plan to simplify my monthly planning to allow more time for memory keeping. Supplies: "Nordic Woods" from Cocoa Daisy (here) Charms from Colibri Charms (here) The Paper Studio Stickers (Hobby Lobby) Happy Planner silver metal discs in classic size The video below shows my full set up.  How do you plan to Document your December? Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Catching up the Journal

Image
As the year winds down, this is a look back to journaling last spring and summer.  Cocoa Daisy has been such a fun addition to my planning and journaling in the past year.  I have some fun things coming and Cocoa Daisy is going to be a big part of those, but first, lets finish out last spring. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

2018 Reading List

Image
I love to read.  Unfortunately, I don't spend nearly enough time doing so at this stage of my life.  However, when I was recently sick for a few days, I spent some time reading.  I also spent some time journaling and working on my insert. Hmmm..... journaling, reading and decorating.  What else could I do but...  Of course I needed a few supplies.  For that I grabbed my Rusty Hinge Distress Crayon, the lettering stencil from Hero Arts, some stickers from the Reset Girl and my 01 and 05 Micron pens. I also grabbed some Dr. Seuss quotes to add to the bottom.  I am definitely not on track for my reading goals so I guess I need to play catch up.  I have to say that this layout is the perfect place for me to keep track of where I am. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

TN Insert Cover Decorating

Image
Front Cover As promised in the last post, I have my decorated insert for my current journal.  You may notice that there is a lot of empty space and that's just fine with me.  I may find I love it and just leave it.  However, I may also decide that I need to fill some of that space as I fill the insert with my words. For the covers, I pulled out the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons #5 set.  I then went to work scribbling on lines - both straight and circles.  I then took a baby wipe and softened it to create a watercolor effect.  This was all done using the watercolor paper from Close To My Heart. I then started playing the stencil from the Tim Holtz mixed media spray kit and layered pattern onto the the front cover.  This too was done with the Distress Crayons and baby wipes.  Then it was time for the details which were created with simple Micron pens in sizes 01 and 05 and the Hero Arts number/letter stencil set that I have. Near the...

New Journaling Insert

Image
No, I still don't have the craft room cleaned and ready to go.  I have been fighting illness for the past several weeks and this week it finally caught me good and hard with Bronchitis.  I've spent the last 3 days doing very little, but today I pulled out my journaling insert and decided to do some decorating.  I finished my last insert in February and so I decided that rather than pulling out another Moleskine Cahier insert, that I wanted to make my own this time.  I started with a piece of 12X12 watercolor paper from Close To My Heart and some Tomoe River paper and went to work.  I prefer sewn inserts because I feel like they are better on my elastics, so I used dental floss to hand sew the pieces together.  I was ready for March with a brand new journaling insert.  I haven't gotten bold enough to decorate the cover but when I do, you will see it here. Some days I journal on the plain white pages and just add stickers, washi, or other decoration...

Daily December Journaling

Image
Christmas is fast approaching and I want to really document it well this year.  Though I had heard of Ali Edwards' December Daily a couple of years ago, I really didn't know what it was.  Last year as I learned a little more, I put together a little (and simple) album.  This year, I am ready to give it a try.  This video gives more information and it also talks about a little giveaway that I'm doing on YouTube.  Be sure to watch it for a chance to win.  My current plan is to update you weekly on my progress so come back soon to see how it is coming together. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Green and Yellow Encouragement Card and Notebook

Image
Do you know what time it is?  It's time for a brand new Challenge on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog and we really hope you will play along.  March is one of my favorite months of the year.  It is the month of both of my children's births as well as mine.  It is also the month where I feel like new beginnings are starting after the long, cold months of winter.  This month's challenge celebrates that by encouraging you to use gorgeous colors - yellow, green, and orange.  Does anything celebrate the beginning of new life better than a daffodil as it peeks it's yellow head bravely through the snow?  How about those first sprigs of green grass or orange wildflowers?  You can choose any combination of the 3 colors and add some ribbon for this challenge. For my projects I used green and yellow.  Goblin Green and Sunflower 3 Girl JAM ribbon worked perfectly to make them really pop.  If you would like some of your own ribbon, click on the...

Image
Welcome to the 3 Girl JAM Holiday Blog Hop! If you came from Jovan's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just happened to visit today and haven't started the hop from the beginning, click here to start at 3 Girl JAM.  We have some fabulous projects lined up today and some special Guest Designers too.  We have all used some of the new Holiday Products (including: The Ribbon Candy Crinkle Ribbon Bundle , Christmas Flair , or the new Jute Ribbon and String Bundle ).  I liked these new products so well that I found a way to use something from each bundle.  Don't they coordinate well? To start with I created this large flower with the Red Ribbon Candy and the new flair.  To view a tutorial on how to make this, click here . I then turned a composition book into a Christmas Journal for my nephew and his wife.  It includes sections for recipes, traditions, gift giving, photos, and recipes with a few already included.  I made quite...

More Disneyland Journals

Image
Hello.  Today, I have 3 Disneyland Journals to share with you.  If you take the time to watch the videos, I also show you my completed journal and talk about how I completed it.  I offer some tips and show you what I packed to maximize my space and yet have everything I would need to keep up with my journal.  Believe it or not, I only took 5 items including my journal plus a set of ink pens.  I keep the pens in my Day Planner which I took on the trip, but you could easily use the Smash pen for the whole project. I found out that 2 of my sisters are also headed to Disneyland over the next couple of months so I made them each a journal.  I also made one for my niece.  I altered books for my family, but I made these books from my stash. For the first 2 journals I used the following: Bind-It-All with 3/4" rings Disneyland paper from EK Success Bright colored card stock and paper from my stash White slick paper from our office suppli...

In addition to celebrating 3 Girl JAM's birthday, I am also celebrating family time.  3 Girl JAM is a family operated business.  In fact "JAM" is actually an acronym using the names of the owners' family. My family is celebrating the chance of being with each other and we are going to Disneyland!  Woo Hoo!!! I didn't know if I would ever get to go to ...

Graduation Autograph Book

Image
Hello.  Welcome to a new challenge at 3 Girl JAM.  This challenge is an Anything Goes with Ribbon challenge.  I love anything goes challenges so that I can link whatever project that I'm currently working on.  Be sure to play along with your projects for a chance to win some 3 Girl JAM ribbon.  I have provided a link in the right hand column so you can link up right from there or from the bottom of this post. Now for my project.  My daughter is graduating from high school next week.  She will be having a graduation ceremony with 2 other homeshooled students.  One of the things we will be doing is decorating a table in the colors of her choice.  One of the decorations we will have is a photo frame that people can autograph.  However, we realized that the frame won't provide much room for people to make comments so we decided to also have an autograph book on the table.  With the extra pages, she will be able to add photographs o...

Christmas Journal 2

Image
I know that Christmas is long over and packed away.  However, I wanted to post just one more of my Christmas projects.  I have shown you 2 Christmas journals this year.  The first was a very detailed journal that I made for my own Christmas journaling.  The second one was a really small journal that is something that you could toss into your purse.  I made a bunch of these for co-workers.  Today, I am sharing one between the 2.  It will take a little time to make, but I think its worth it.  I have made several of these throughout the season and still have several more to make.  Let's get started. For this particular journal, I used the following items: Composition notebook 14 pieces of cardstock (cut 4 at 9 3/4X 7 1/2 and 10 at 9 3/4X 7 1/4).  For this one, I used the Recollections Botanical Noel.  This is a stunning paper pack. I'm sorry this is so late.  I was hoping to have the prize ready earlier, but I just haven't caught up yet.  Now that it's finally done, we should announce the winner. The winning comment is from Beckie (via Random.Heath of course). She said... "Very, very pretty.  Super love it" Please leave me a comment here with your address and I'll get your prize sent soon.  Remember that I moderate all my comments, so your address won't appear on the blog. Thanks everyone for your comments and hopping along with us.  There is still time to link up a project to the 3 Girl JAM Christmas Inspirations Challenge. What did she win?  Well the first thing is this little journal/ purse notebook. There will also be some other goodies including  some 3 Girl JAM goodness.

Beach Party

Image
I know, I still haven't finished the Animal Series, but I will get to it.  I really wanted to show you this fun project first.  This is a project that I have been planning to do for a couple of weeks now.  I wanted to post it now to list in a couple of challenges: Decorate to Celebrate - Beach Party Getting Cricky - Summertime My Sheri Crafts - Summer Lovin'   I think these little books would make a perfect Beach Party decoration, though that isn't what I plan to do with them.  You could give them away as party favors for your guests or you could even use them for a guest book, autograph book, photo book, or combination of the 3.  Sound like fun?  They are so simple to make and so versatile.  Add stamps from K. Andrew Designs and you have a great little book.  I used Splashtastic Summer, but I see that Kristal is releasing 2 other summer stamp sets that would also be perfect for this. I'm looking forward to getting these someday! ...

Mom's Journal

Image
Here is a quick video of my mom's birthday gift this year.  I used several different stamp sets, but my main feature was K. Andrew Designs' "Amazing You" and "Scripture Sayings".  You can see these sets by clicking on the links on the pictures. I hope you enjoy the video.  Thanks for watching.
