Fall ATC's

Image
Hello everyone.  I trust you are having a great day.  I have had a very productive day doing laundry, fixing dinner, mailing packages, taking kids to voice, picking up around the house, and CRAFTING!  Woo hoo for the last one.  I even managed to kind of clean up my crafty space.  Are you interested in what I made today?  I really hope so because I worked on projects for 3 different posts.  Woo Hoo!  So on to project #1 - Fall ATC's. Now if you have followed me for awhile, you might have seen that I have really come to enjoy making ATC's.  I guess they are some of the "little things" that I talk about.   Are you familiar with these?  ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards.  They are cards that you can trade with other people.  They are a standard size - 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" and they are never to be sold.  Other than that, there are very few rules (generally speaking). The ATC's I made this time were actually for a swap at CraftHappens.ning.com.  There were a

Pocket Happy Birthday Card

Hello everyone.  I wanted to share a card that I made for my little nephew's birthday, but first I have an advertisement.  OK it's not really an advertisement, but more of a find.  The Cricut Craft Room is having a sale on all digital content.  It is only good through October 31, 2012, but you can get any digital content for 31% off.  There was a digital only cartridge that I have wanted that I was able to pick up for less than $7.00.  So if you're looking for something, click here . This was a pretty simple card to make.  Here's what you need: "Rugged Dude" - Close to my Heart Kraft and Vintage Cream cardstock - PaperTrey Ink Life of the Party 6X6 paper - Basic Grey Distress inks - Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Walnut Stain Silver embossing powder "Happy Birthday" - TPC Studio Maraschino Twine - The Twinery Versamark ink pad To start, I cut a piece of card stock to 4 1/4" X 11" and scored at 5 1/2".  I then took a p

"Fall Treat" Cards

Image
Happy fall morning.  I have a really simple fall project for you today.  I attend a very small church and we currently have 3 kids who are away to college.  This is the time of year that college kids often start missing home and so we like to send a box of goodies to them in the Fall.  I really wanted to make them each a card, but I was running out of time.  I needed something that would be nice, but quick and easy. This is probably the simplest Design Team post that I've done for 3 Girl JAM.  Guess what?  Simple can be beautiful - especially when you have gorgeous ribbon.  Today's gorgeous ribbon is Harvest Orange .  Now I'm not typically an "orange" girl, but I must say that I find the oranges of fall breathtaking.  Harvest Orange was perfect for these cards.  Supplies: Harvest Orange crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM The Paper Company Cyprus collection DCWV - Autumn Melody Matstack Brown cardstock from my stash Prima - Say it in Pearls (peach) Distres

Graphic 45 Happy Birthday Card

Image
Graphic 45 has some of the prettiest paper you can imagine.  I love the vintage feel and colors of many of their paper pads.  They just reached 15,000 "likes" on Facebook, so they are hosting a challenge and I wanted to get in on it.  Unfortunately, the only G45 paper that I currently own is the "ABC Primer" 8X8 pad and I needed a birthday card.  With a little creativity, I was able to make it work.  Let's jump right in. I made a 5 1/2" square card using this paper pad.  I love the way it turned out.  I think the person I made it for will love it too. Of course, I had to finish off the inside as well.  More paper and cut-outs from the pack with a hint of black provided the perfect finishing touch. Here's what I used: Graphic 45 ABC Primer in 8X8 3 Girl JAM - Holly Berry Paper Trey Ink Kraft cardstock CTMH Cricut Artiste (banner p. 35 at 1.25") and Art Philosophy cartridges (butterfly p. 55 at 2") CTMH Ruby ink CTMH Artiste Birt

Bronco Gift Bag and Card

Image
Yesterday, I posted the clipboards that I altered for 3 of my nephews.  Thanks for checking them out.  After they were altered and ready to go, they of course needed a little bag and card.  This is what I came up with. This little 3X3 card was made from papers in my scrap stash.  I also used a sticker and mounted it on a blue piece of paper.  I stamped the inside with "Happy Birthday" from TPC Studio. I then used some orange and white twine from The Twinery. The bag was trimmed to a smaller size.  It was then inked with Dusty Durango from Stampin' Up and Faded Jeans distress ink.  I cut a couple of holes in the top of the bag, ran my twine through the holes and tied the card on to the bag.  Doesn't that sound easy?  It really was. Thanks for stopping by.  Remember to... Take some time to enjoy the little things.

Pumpkin With a Thankful Mini

Image
Good morning everyone.  Don't you just love fall mornings?  I do.  Today I have a thankful project to show you that I designed especially for the current 3 Girl JAM challenge - fall favors with ribbon.  We are being co-sponsored by Scraptastical Kreations so be sure to link up your project for a chance to win some great prizes. I think this would be a lovely favor for your Thanksgiving guests.  You could either do them individually as place cards, or you could send them home with each family as a way to remember your time together.  Not staying home?  How about a cute hostess gift?  The possibilities are endless.  Now I must admit that the inspiration for the pumpkin came from the October 2012 Cricut magazine.  I tweaked it a lot to form the base for the little Tag Mini from Scraptastical Kreations.  I used quite a few things to make this, so hang on to your hats. 3 Girl JAM - Halloween Harvest , Mistletoe , Witches Brew Scraptastical Kreations - Tag Album Create-a-Cri

Fall Stick Pins

Image
Hello everyone.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I have a "Little Thing" project that turned out to be so fun and pretty. The project was to make stick pins for a swap over at CraftHappens.ning.com.  Here are the rules: Make a 2.5-3" stick pin Use at least 4 different things on your pins Choose any color Make 3 sets of 3 pins (They can be the same or different, but have to be in the same color scheme) I made my holder from die cuts from the "Fall" Tim Coffey set by K and Company.  The little tag made by stamping the sentiment from the K. Andrew Designs "Fall-o-ween" stamp set in Black Soot distress ink.  I then inked around the edges of the sentiment box with Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves distress inks.  Be sure to check out the video for a full tutorial on making the pins as well as the little holders. I am linking this project to the following challenges: Party Time Tuesdays - Anything but a card Joyful S

Rustic Red Tag

I needed a special gift recently and I didn't have much time to come up with one.  On Saturday, we found out that a family in our church is moving to a different state.  A going away fellowship was scheduled for Wednesday.  Most of the ladies in our church participate in a secret sister exchange.  My secret sister this year is the mom of the family that is leaving.  We are sad to see them move, but know that this is a good opportunity for them. You may recall that earlier in the year I had given some little treats in some Pampered Chef containers.  I had the rest of the set to give as well as a cookbook.  That took care of the gift, now I just needed a card.  I decided instead to make a tag.  I must admit that I absolutely enjoyed making this and I love the way it turned out. Tag Front Here's what you need: 3 Girl JAM Ribbon ( Sunflower and Holly Berry ) 3 Girl JAM Burlap Tim Holtz Ink - Fired Brick, Vintage Photo Tim Holtz Embellishments (Key, Keyhole, Word Stri

Coin Wrap Treat Holder

Image
Hello everyone.  I am really excited to show you this fun little treat holder made from a quarter roll wrapper.  What, a coin wrapper?  Absolutely!  It was really fun to make.  I even made my own stick pin.  Yes, there were a couple of new things I tried with this project and it was worth it. Since these are for a swap over at CraftHappens.net, I needed to package them nicely.  I grabbed some cellophane bags and the new Autumn matstack from DCWV and included my information on the back of the topper.  I used the gorgeous Sunflower crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  This is part of the harvest bundle and you can find out more about it by clicking here. Other items used - Tim Holtz - Fall Seasonal distress ink Recollections flowers and leaves Lace from my stash "Fall-O-Ween" stamp set from K. Another Thrifty Haul

Image
Here is a video that shows a few thrift store and surplus store finds.  Remember to think outside of the box and to look at thrift stores, yard sales, and other places away from your local scrapbooking stores for some neat stuff.  You never know when you will find that perfect storage item or scrappy item for little or free. Be sure to check back soon.  I have a post scheduled to set late Wednesday night for 3 Girl JAM.  I am also in the process of uploading another project that should appear in the next few days.  Thanks for stopping by today. Take time to enjoy the little things.

Card Makeover

Image
Hello everyone.  I trust this finds you well.  I have been so crazy busy that I haven't really taken the time to craft lately.  That means that I'm really far behind.  My brother and sister-in-law's anniversary was last week and I didn't have time to make a card.  So this is what I did to still give them a little something special. I started by going into my card stash and discovered that I didn't have any anniversary cards made up.  However, I found this adorable wedding card that my friend Crystal made. ** Last year we had a card exchange club where each month we would pick a different theme and make around 8 cards.  Then we would exchange them between us.  It was great.  Not only did we receive great inspiration from each other, but we increased our card stashes.  Those cards have saved my bacon on more than one occasion.** The next step was to figure out how to turn this wedding card into an anniversary card.  I grabbed my "All in the Family" sta

*Disclaimer- This post should not be considered to provide complete medical information.  It should not be considered as medical advice. Please see your physician with your concerns and to discuss your  health risks.* Fall is in the air.  Don't you just love it?  I do, but what I don't love is all the sickness that inevitably comes as the temperature drops.  So what can you do to help protect yourself from all those icky germs that get passed around from person to person?  Everyone has their own ideas.  They might include: Taking vitamins (Doing this) Using essential oils Getting your flu vaccination (Yep, this one's done too) Making sure you have cough and cold medication on hand (Pretty sure I'm good here too) Drinking lots of water (Uh oh... I definitely need work here) Getting lots of rest (Ummm... well, I try) Healthy eating (Refer to my comment on drinking water) Staying away from people, especially the sick ones (Not practical in my line

Look What God Gave Lucy

Image
Hello everyone.  I'm finally back with another project.  Remember the gift bag I showed you a few days ago for Lucy?  Well, this is one of the things that I put inside.  I have to admit that this took a little time, but it was so worth it.  I think it's my favorite mini to date.  I used lots of 3 Girl JAM ribbon on the rings holding the book together as well as tiny charm.  The base paper and most of the accent paper is Paper Layerz from Above Rubies Studio.  I did lots of inking and even made a couple of tags. For a full tutorial, be sure to watch the video. I am linking to the following: Little Scrap Pieces - Use Ribbon Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes    Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to...
