2019 Christmas Tags with Aunt Cheri

Image
For the final video in the Christmas Tag Series, I created a special video for all my nieces and nephews.  I have a lot of nieces and nephews and I try to create at least one or two projects especially for them each year.  However to be perfectly honest, I think that adults will like this simple technique and it may even make you decide to never buy gift tags again... It's that simple but doesn't sacrifice charm for simplicity. Here's what you will need: Pre-made tags or material to make your own (cardstock, chipboard, file folders, cereal boxes, etc) Paper napkins with a small pattern or print White glue that will dry clear such as Elmer's school glue or Mod Podge Ribbon, yarn or some other string for your tops Ruler, scissors, pencil and hole punch The basic idea is to just use what you have.  If you have a die cutting machine, great.  If you don't have a die cutting machine, you can use a paper trimmer or just good old fashion scissors a

2019 Christmas Tag #4 & A Giveaway

Welcome to the 4th week of Christmas tags for 2019.  My goal for this series is 2-fold: 1. Create gorgeous tags for my loved ones 2. Use different techniques and supplies Today, I am highlighting one of my favorite mediums - watercolors!  I love using watercolors to enhance my cards and journals.  Now I'm pulling them out for the tags.  Don't let this item used by artists intimidate you.  I'm not an artist but I love the effect that I can achieve with them.  Watercolors are a great way to express your creativity no matter how much experience you have.  You don't have to buy expensive ones.  Just grab a set and start experimenting. Be sure to check out the video below for how these tags were made.  Don't forget the giveaway for your chance to win a set of of the tags from this series. Supplies: Koi Watercolors Poinsettia stamp from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Red ribbon Strathmore watercolor paper Archival Distress Black Soot ink Wha

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for.  My God, my husband, my kids and the list goes on and on,  My prayer today is that if you don't know the Lord, that you will trust Him as your only way to salvation  There is nothing more to be thankful for. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

2019 Christmas Tag #3 & A Giveaway

Image
There are a few things that are a "must" at Christmas time and one of those things for me is the candy cane.  When my children were little,we would read The Legend of the Candy Cane at Christmas time.  It was one of 3 books that I loved to read every Christmas.  The book talks about the Candy Cane being a reminder of Jesus and of His death for you and me. Friend, do you know Jesus?  I hope you do. If you don't, reach out to me and I will be happy to share the Good News of Jesus and how He was born as a baby so that He could die for your sins and mine.  Wow!  How awesome is that? On this tag, I used a stencil and distress ink to form the candy cane background and a tiny Close to my Heart stamp for the tree.  I used Prisma colored pencils and gamsol to color in the tree. Supplies: CTMH White Daisy card stock CTMH gold glitter pen CTMH black ink CTMH mini Christmas tree stamp Festive Berries Distress Ink Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridg

Showcase of Cards

Image
Today, I have a quick video of some cards that I made a few months ago.  They are simple but I loved the way they turned out.  There are days that you have very little time (or energy) to create something elegant, but you still want to make something special for your loved ones.  Here are some cards where I did exactly that. I hope you enjoy this little video. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

2019 Christmas Tag #1 & A Giveaway

I love Christmas tags.  Last year, I was so busy that I bought those sticky tags to put on packages.  They did the job, but this year I wanted so much more.  I was inspired by Sandy Allnock's tag series to do some crafty tag making and I highly encourage you to go check out her 24 Tags of Christmas Videos.  She is so very talented. Let's dive into this week's tag.  There is a product list below that you might find helpful.  If you saw the "Getting Ready for Christmas" video in the previous post, you know that I am trying to use my stash for much of my Christmas crafting this year.  If you can't find a product listed below, be creative in your substitutions.  I am also including the cut file from the Cricut Design Space. The biggest tip I have for this tag is to use a new Cricut blade when cutting the glitter layer.  It is very intricate and tears easily. Supplies: Design Space Cut File - here Joys of the Season cartridge White Daisy cardsto

I knew the last year had been busy but I had no idea that it had been nearly a year since I last posted.  I have spent little time crafting, making videos or posting in the last year as life has been so very busy.  I have spent some time in the last few weeks getting organized, posting videos and even doing some crafting.  You will see quite a few posts in the next few days as I pull all the platforms together here. I do have some announcements and a haul in the videos below.  Additionally, here's what you will see as I pull things together in the coming days: Baby Card Tutorial Journal Catch-up Organization Video Card Showcase Encouragement Card Christmas Tag Series I can't wait to share these things with you and I hope to be more active here in the coming weeks and months.
