Dress Form Tags

Tags are so fun to make.  I recently participated in a dress form tag swap over at Art and Sassy.  You can find out about their swaps by clicking here.  In the meantime how about some tags?  I made 4 tags for the swap and a 5th for me.

All the tags used the following items:
Claudine Helmeth Sticky Back Canvas
Score-tape and ATG adhesive
#5 Avery Tags
K. Andrews "Sew Much Fun"
My Mind's Eye "Princess Blush" stamp set
Charms and O rings

The first tag is the one that I kept for myself.  In addition to the other items, I also used:
Purple Gelato
Dusty Concord Distress Ink
Recollections bling
SEI "Couture" 6X6 paper
3 Girl JAM - Witch's Brew and Antique White ribbon

Without a doubt, the second tag is one of my favorite ones of the set.  The colors remind me of the sunset.  The additional items I used were:
3 Girl JAM - Sunflower and Harvest Orange ribbon
Yellow and orange Gelato
Prima bling flower
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Graphic 45 "Secret Garden" patterns and solid 6X6 pack

Yellow and green Gelatos work beautifully together to form this tag.  I also used:
3 Girl JAM - Sunflower and Goblin Green
Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Prima Pearls bling
SEI Couture "6X6" pack

Though I wouldn't consider myself a pink person, this tag turned out beautifully.  I used:
Pink and Dark Pink Gelatos
Clear embossing powder with Versamark ink
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Echo Park "This & That - Graceful"
Want2Scrap bling
3 Girl JAM Antique White and Baby Girl ribbon

Blue and purple round out the set nicely.  I used:
2 blue and 1 purple Gelatos
Versamark, Memento "Tuxedo Black", Close To My Heart "Smoky Plum" inks
White embossing powder
3 Girl JAM - White and Iris ribbon
Want2Scrap bling

Lemonade Paper Bag Cards

Good Morning everyone.  I trust you are having a great day and are looking forward to a good weekend.  I know that much of the country is hot so I think this card is perfect for today.  This card was designed for a swap over at Art & Sassy. For more information on their great swaps, click here.  I made 3 cards for the swap and have an extra one to encourage someone else.

For this swap, I used the following items:
Paper lunch sacks from the dollar store
"Ice Blue" ribbon from 3 Girl JAM (here)
Recollections - yellow paper from the Spice Market and Jewel packs
My Mind's Eye - Stella and Rose "Hattie Papers" in 6X6
Close to My Heart - Indian Corn Blue ink
Memento - Tuxedo Black ink
TPC Studio stamps - Slice of Life
Spellbinders and Cuttlebug
Clear glitter glue
Scrappy tape and ATG adhesive

After I was all finished, I went to the dollar store and bought a box of individually wrapped lemonade packets.  I stuck a couple in each front pocket.  I thought it worked out really well.

Here is a video tutorial that I hope you will enjoy.

Greek Tortellini Salad - Pinterest Inspired Recipe

It's been quite awhile since I posted a recipe.  Recently, I found this delicious looking recipe on Pinterest and I knew it would be perfect for me to try.  However, there's a problem.  "What?", you say.  The problem is that no one in my family is even interested in trying it.  My husband doesn't even like the smell of the feta cheese.  I knew this was going to have to be a work recipe.  It was a hit and is already gone.

I am not going to give you the recipe, but will provide the link where I found it.  You can go to the site by clicking here.  There is a whole lot of delicious looking food going on over at Two Peas and Their Pod!

Estate Sale Haul

Hello everyone.  Last weekend I decided that I wanted to go to some yard sales.  However, I didn't want to spend a huge amount of time and money looking for treasures aka junk I didn't need.  I was looking for very specific items so I went through the classifieds very carefully.  When my eyes wondered to an estate sale that was being run by the owners of an antique store (which is now closed), I knew this was going to be my only stop this weekend.  For better or worse, I wasn't going anywhere else!  As you can see in the video, this was definitely a "for better" situation.

This typewriter is something that I mention in the video but do not show.

Birthday Balloons Window Card

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are having a beautiful day.  If you are coming over from the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog - welcome.

I have seen several different "window" cards lately and I wanted to give it a try so I decided that these birthday balloons would work well.  I also wanted to make this card for an adult male so I wanted it to be more muted and in masculine colors.

I used the following supplies and tools:
3 Girl JAM - Gold Crown from the Royal Bundle
Paper: Paper Trey Ink (Kraft & Vintage Cream), The Paper Studio (Brown from the Cyprus collection), My Mind's Eye (Fine & Dandy Boy)
Inks: Distress (Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Wild Honey), Ranger Archival (Coffee)
Studio G Glitter Glue
Hero Arts: "All Occasion Messages" stamp set and Stamp and Cut - "Balloons"
Spellbinders: Labels Number 5 with the Cuttlebug
Micron Pen: Black

The video today is a bit longer than normal, so thanks for taking the time to view it.

Tim Holtz - word sticks
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
My Mind's Eye - Miss Caroline sentiment stamps
Core'dinations cardstock from Joann's

Introduction to Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri

Today I am introducing a new video series that was designed for my little people.  My nieces and nephews are scattered throughout the United States and I really don't get to see them often.  I decided it would be fun to craft with them via YouTube.  The original idea was based on a project that I found on Pinterest.  From there it became a 10 week craft series - "Summer Fun with Aunt Cheri".  I may expand it to 11 depending on the feedback that I get from my family.  That's when I decided that I should change the name to "Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri".  Why?  Because I would like to continue the series throughout the school year by doing 1-2 crafts per month.  Let's see how this goes first though.

What should you expect?

1. Simple projects every week.  When I say simple, I mean really simple.  However, there will be some prep work for you.  I'll try to give you a head's up on the next week's prep work.
2. Simple Bible memory.  Each week, I will introduce a new Bible verse for little people to memorize.  You are welcome to encourage your little person to work on it too.  Send me an email for every verse your child says and we will keep track together.

I would encourage you to get a box to place your child's crafty items.  My little people will receive the projects in the bags as I show in the video.  This will hopefully add to the excitement and surprise each week.  If you would like to receive a supply and project list, please send an email to:

Next Week's Prep and Supplies
Journal - I have made tiny journals for my little people to decorate.  You can see the tutorial that I learned this from by clicking here.  However, you can use any little notebook you choose.  You will need some stickers, glue, die cuts, or anything else needed to decorate a fun journal.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Adar Scrubs Review

Recently I was contacted by Uniformed Scrubs and asked to review one of their new summer scrub tops.  While browsing through their website, they appear to have a good selection of nurse's scrubs at prices that are comparable to my local scrub store.

I was sent one of the new Adar Summer scrub tops to review and I must say that the cranberry color is gorgeous.  I typically wear black scrubs that are provided by my employer so adding a pop of color on occasion is refreshing.

So what did I find out about wearing this new top?  First of all, there is PLENTY of pocket space with 2 hip pockets and one chest.  I don't typically use the chest pocket, but if you do you might find it useful.  Secondly, at the end of a 12 hour shift, the top was just as wrinkle free as it was when I started the day.  It was also very comfortable.  The last thing that I found was that the size seems to run pretty "standard".  I ordered it a size larger than normal since I didn't have the option of trying it on.  I think I could have stayed with the size of my employer provided scrubs and been fine.  That's really a nice thing to know for the future.

Would you like to know more about all the scrubs Uniformed Scrubs has to offer?  I will provide links below to their social media sites.  They also have a special code they have given me to offer you.  Use the coupon code "trueblue" to receive 15% off orders placed from now until July 31, 2013.  Just follow the links below.

3 Girl JAM Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to my little part of the 3 Girl JAM Birthday Blog Hop.  I hope you are having a great time hopping along.  If you have arrived here from Scrappin' Madge, you are in the right place.  If not, be sure to start at the top of the hop by clicking here.  You don't want to miss a thing.  There are some fun prizes along the way and Julie is also offering a special discount.  Just use the code BIRTHDAY to receive 20% discount on all orders over $10.00.

This special Birthday Hop is in honor of Julie's sister Angie.  She is celebrating her birthday this month and we want to help her celebrate.  Speaking of family, have you ever noticed that the "JAM" in 3 Girl JAM is in all uppercase letters?  That's because 3 Girl JAM is a family business and stands for the 3 girls - Julie, Avery, Mackenzie.  I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty neat.

As my little part to help Angie celebrate, I made this pretty little card.

Items used:
Cherry Ribbon 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon (Click here to find this great ribbon.)
Cricut Imagine - Yummy cartridge
ATG and foam adhesive
Studio G glitter glue
Close To My Heart olive ink

I also created a bonus project.  I found this video by Lawn Fawn that showed how to make this cute little journal.  You can view the video by clicking here.  I also used Cherry Lipstick here as well as paper from Nana's Kitchen by DCWV.

Now about those prizes. One of you reading this will win 50% off your entire order.  I will anounce a winner on Monday, June 17.  To be eligible to win, just do the following:
Be a follower of this blog.
Comment on each blog along the hop (don't forget the 2 featured on the Challenge blog).
"Like" the 3 Girl JAM Facebook page and let me know that you did.

Here's the line-up just in case you get lost along the way.

Navy & White Wedding Card #2

Last week I shared a card made with the scrumptious Navy crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM's Navy Bundle.  Today, I have a new twist to the same card.  In fact, I used nearly the same products, but by adding one more ribbon and mixing things up a bit, I changed the look of the card quite a bit.

I used the following products -
3 Girl JAM Navy bundle - Navy and Dress White
White Georgia Pacific Cardstock
DCWV blue paper from the Shimmer Stack
3 Girl JAM Bow Maker
Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder
Recollections Bling
Spellbinders - Small scalloped rectangles
Wedding Sentiments digi from Sweet and Sassy

If you would like to see the original card, please click <HERE> to compare them.  I hope it will inspire you to mix up your supplies a little bit to create even more great projects.

I have also included a video tutorial that you might find helpful.

Life's Ups & Downs

Do you ever feel like you are riding a roller coaster as you go through life?  Some days are full of laughter and sunshine only to be replaced by gloom and storm clouds.  I am so blessed to know that my God is able to see me through the ups as well as the downs of life.  Do you know Him?  Can you trust Him with your ups and downs?

My son recently showed me a picture that he found while on the internet or Facebook.  It was a picture of an EKG and said "If there are no ups and downs, you're dead".  When you think about it, that's really true.  The ups help keep us sane and feeling victorious.  The downs have the potential to teach us so much about ourselves, others, and even God.  I wonder if we would enjoy and appreciate the ups so much if we didn't have the downs to compare them too?  I really doubt it.

As I pondered the picture, I thought that you could make a great card of encouragement with this concept.  I don't think you will ever find a card like this anywhere else.  It is also most appropriate for someone in the health profession.  They will see the humor and understand.

Items I used:
DCWV - Le Creme and Textured matstacks
Prima "Say it in Pearls" black pearls
Fiscars - Scalloped Sentiment border punch
Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream Cardstock
Black Pen
EKG strip

The video below shows the steps used to create the card as well as the inside sentiment and finishing touches.

Paper Saving Feminine Birthday Cards

Did you like yesterday's cards?  These are the cards that inspired those.  I sat down to make some birthday cards when I realized that I could save paper by piecing different ones together.  Confused?  If so, be sure to watch the video tutorial below.

I used the following supplies:
Basic Grey What's Up 6X6 paper pad - 4 sheets
Georgia Pacific white cardstock - 3 sheets
Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder
Hero Arts All Occasion Messages stamp set
Kaisercraft Basic Pearls in peach
Want2Scrap pearls in purple
Memento Tuxedo Black ink

I really like using 6X6 pads.  The are sized perfectly for card making.  Are you ready to give it a try?

Feel free to watch the video below.

Paper Saving Masculine Birthday Cards

Today I have a fun project to share with you.  I actually made these after I made some similar ones for women.  You will see them in a future post.  I did not make these following a sketch.  It was just a concept that I had in my head where I was trying to make a bunch of birthday cards quickly while using my 6X6 paper to the best advantage.

I used the following products:
Basic Grey - Shine On 6X6 pad
Georgia Pacific - white cardstock
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder
Hero Arts - All Occasion Messages

I only used 5 full 6X6 sheets of decorative paper, 5-6 sheets of GP card stock, and some scraps to make 8 cards.  Not bad!

Check back soon for a video tutorial where I show you how I made 4 feminine cards using similar techniques.  I think you will be glad that you did.

Navy & White Wedding Card

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I am happy to share this card with you.  I designed it for a special young couple who will be getting married this weekend.  I really like the white on white color scheme for wedding cards, but I really wanted to add a punch of color.  Knowing that I had the Navy crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM in my stash, I knew exactly which direction that I wanted to go.  If you don't have the Navy ribbon from the Navy bundle, you can go here to get yours.

I also used the following items:
White cardstock from Paper Trey Ink
Recollections bling
"Birds and Swirls" Cuttlebug embossing folder
Navy paper from the DCWV Shimmer stack
Wedding Day Wishes digital stamp from Sweet and Sassy Stamps
Spellbinders - Small Scalloped Rectangles

I have a video tutorial today that I would like to share.  It even includes a quick tip that you might be interested in viewing.

Senior Picture Album

It's probably hard to believe, but I really do know how to scrapbook.  Unfortunately I am at a time in my life that I really don't have time.  This is why you don't see layouts from me and also why I plan on taking up Project Life.  However, there are those special occasions that I step up and do a mini album of some kind.  My daughter's graduation was one of those occasions.  I printed a bunch of her senior pictures and went to work on this quick album.  I will say it was very quick - 3 to 3.5 hours start to finish once I chose the paper.  It helped that my mom was there to help sort out the photos.

I found this 8X8 album at my local Joann's several weeks ago and knew it would be perfect since it was in my daughter's favorite colors.  Finding paper was a bit of a challenge since I didn't head to the city.  However, while looking around my craft room I found a little file of paper that my daughter had chosen as her own.  I grabbed that and knew that I couldn't go wrong since it was the paper she had chosen.  I used Core'dinations Chocolate Brown textured paper as the base for all my pages which were cut at 8X8.  I also used it as well as some other Core'dinations colors to mat all the photos.  I then simply cut all the designer paper and cardstock at 7 3/4" square and adhered them to the brown paper and added the photos.

The most time was spent on the title page.  I used the same paper from Lisa Gibbon's Prima paper that I had used on all of her other projects.  I also handmade each of the 3 flowers.  I love to have everything coordinate.  The following supplies were also used on this page:
3 Girl JAM -
Jeremiah 29:11 digital image found here.
Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge

Since this is the last project that I made for Elise's graduation, I decided to post a picture her display table.  Each graduate was responsible for their own table that showed their likes and activities.  This is where we displayed all of the projects I made as well as her favorite things.

If you would like to see the video that shows the whole album, it is posted below.

Masculine Graduation Card & Bookmark

I believe that this is the final graduation card that I will be posting this year.  I really like the paper that I used on the masculine cards last week, but I needed to use up some scraps.

Stampendous - Graduation Cap stamp
DCWV - Safari Chic paper
Coredinations card stock
3 Girl JAM - Coffee and Hot Chocolate bundles
Stampendous Cap and Gown stamp

Decorated Box for Cards

I decided to show you the box that I decorated for my daughter's graduation.  This sat on her table to hold any cards that she received.  You will see the pictures of her table later on in the post.

I used the following products-
Decorated box - Joann's
Hot glue
Offray ribbon - brown satin
Prima flowers in white and teal
Ranger liquid pearls - Peacock

Of course, every tutorial is better when a video is involved.

I plan to enter this in the following challenges -
