Treat Bags

Image
Who doesn't enjoy getting a surprise treat?  I know that I do and I bet you might too.  Today, I want to share 2 little treat bags that I made. The first one was made from a little paper bag that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I love the purple chevron and just knew that I needed to make something with it.  The stamps were from a cute little hostess stamp set that will be retiring at the end of July.  When I saw it, I knew I wanted it.  Can you guess why?  If you are interested in hostessing a gathering so that you could earn this set, I will be happy to set one up for you.  Just email me at djssundries@gmail.com for more information. Other supplies: Gold glitter tape from American Crafts Gold sequins by Mainstays (Walmart) White and purple cardstock scraps Smokey Plum Exclusive Ink Pad (found here ) Foam tape The second little bag is completely different. Here's what I used: Ruby Exclusives Ink pad (found here ) Kaboom Stamp Set (CTMH - June Stamp of the

Create*Craft*Share YouTube Hop - Make Something Out of Your Mess

Image
It's time for another YouTube Hop and I am so excited to be a part of it.  This month we are making something by using the stuff in our crafty space that is out of place.  I have pictures in my video that shows part of the mess I am currently living with.  I decided to create a project that not only used out of place items, but that would enable me to begin organizing the mess.  You will have to let me know what you think.  Be sure to hop along the other 7 stops.  I can't wait to see the fabulous projects these ladies created.  There will be some prizes along the way as well. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Quick Mini Journal

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are having a great day.  I also really hope that you aren't sick of seeing altered notebooks from me.  There is actually a little story behind this one.  I have been a bit swamped lately and running behind in projects that I need to get done.  Friday morning for the real world was actually "Monday" for me this past weekend.  It was day 1 of 3 days of 12+ hour shifts.  My plan was to come home Friday night and get the project for today made and posted.  I had a general plan on what I was going to make until I made it home that night. I have been shadowed by a nursing student during 6 of my last 9 shifts.  She is a great student and I think she will make a fabulous nurse.  She is very organized and always has a little spiral notebook for her notes.  On Friday I realized that she didn't have her notebook and we were using notebook and scrap paper all day.  When I asked about it, she mentioned that she had forgotten it at home.  When s

Close To My Heart Thursday - Timberline Love Card

Image
I wanted to make a special card for my husband when the inspiration for this card came to me.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make when my eyes fell on a scrap from the Timberline Collection from Close To My Heart.  The piece was a cut I had made from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge from another project.  I had also been working on the Lollydoodle Cardmaker's Workshop on the Go and found the perfect stamp set.  Unfortunately, this stamp set is currently only available if you purchase the workshop, but I must say that it is a great kit.  As it ended up, all the paper for this card was from my scraps or old Cricut cuts.  Woo Hoo!  I love using up my leftovers. Handmade Organizer for Card Pieces

Image
Do you ever have so many pieces to a project that you are afraid that you are going to lose some?  Maybe you like to mass produce cards for special occasions and just want to keep the pieces you are working on safe from getting lost.  I have come up with a simple solution for you.  No, this is not for long-term storage as it does not close on all sides.  This is more to keep your pieces sorted while you are cutting.  It is simple to make and can be decorated to show your style. Here's what you will need: 2 pieces of 12X12 cardstock.  I used CTMH White Daisy for the outside.  Ivy Lane or Skylark Reflections Scrapbook Paper where used on the inside.  I cut the inner piece to 11.5X11.5.  You could add additional pages if you are making more complicated cards with lots of cuts. Bakers Twine (I used twine from the Twinery) Lagoon and Pear Exclusives Inks Believe in Yourself and  Hopscotch Alphabet stamp sets Since I didn't get a picture of these, I hope you take a few

Scrap Your Stash 4X4 Card Challenge

Image
I am so excited to be sharing these little cards with you today.  Why?  Because they were made using scraps.  Even the card bases and the liners were made from scraps.  The embellishments and the ribbons were the only things that weren't from my scrap stash.  Now here's the real challenge: Don't just make 1 card, but make a set of 4 coordinating cards out of scraps. Could you do it?  I challenge you to try.  It's a great way to push your imagination while using up your supplies.  I really hope you will give it a shot. Other supplies: Close to my Heart - A Huge Thanks (Consultant Stamp Set), Pear and Smoky Plum Exclusive Inks Memento Tuxedo Black ink Distress Pens - Dusty Concord, Forest Moss, Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick 3 Girl JAM - Merlot and Purple Passion crinkle ribbon Really Reasonable Ribbon - purple and yellow ribbon 2" Circle punch Fiskars Notebook Border Punch Michael's Bling Foam squares and ATG How about a video? Mini Message Boards

Good morning.  I hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoyed a good weekend.  I was so inspired by Scrappin' Abby's Memo Board last week that I wanted to make some of my own.  I decided to use some great 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make them just my style. The new Flair and Flower Bundle were just what I needed to make my little boards.  All I had to do was add some extra ribbon from the new Tie Dye 1 and Tie Dye 2 bundles to make them perfect for my treasures. I started out by purchasing some cork tiles from my local Joann's store.  These were 12 inch tiles, but I wanted circles. So I set up the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut a circle to use as a pattern.  Using fit-to-page, I was able to create a pattern to use to cut my circles.  I then took some muslin to cover the cork by using hot glue to adhere it to the back.  Next came the fabulous flower ribbon for decoration and a hanger.  I decided to do each one a little differently for more variety. Using
