Gift Card Holder for a Guy

Image
We all know that you can use ribbon on cards for girls right?  Of course, its great for holidays and babies.  You can even squeeze it in on kid's cards now and then.  But how about those cards we need to make for all the guys on our lists?  Today, I'm going to show you that you can.  So grab your 3 Girl JAM Harvest Orange ribbon and come play along. I wanted to make a little card that I could tuck a gift card into.  I pulled out my Cricut Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart and cut this little card at 3" using the card feature and the "j" key.  I pulled a brown sheet of 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock from my stash.  Since I had everything loaded, I went ahead and cut 2 cards out at the same time.  Now I have a card to use later. I pulled a piece of paper from the MME "Fine and Dandy" 6X6 pad and cut a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 7/8" for the back and a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 5/8" for the front.  I then found my "Happy M

We are being sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps and there's a great prize up for grabs.  You can find great digital images as well as clear acrylic stamps on their website.  Ready to play along? I used 2 different stamp sets from Clear Dollar Stamps ( "New Butterfly" and " Elegant Accents ") and and mixed it with some pretty " Iris " 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make my card. I used the following other items as well: PaperTrey Ink - Plum Pudding, Stamper's Select White, and Vintage Cream card stock. Prismacolors (Still need lots of practice here) DCWV - Lavender Chateau Matstack Dusty Concord Distress Ink Crystal Stickles Glossy Accents  I really like the way this card turned out.  I made it for a special friend and I'm really looking forward to getting it over today.  Thanks for stopping by today and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

12 Days of Christmas Tags Announcement

Hello.  I'm so glad you decided to stop by today.  I trust you had a wonderful Christmas and spent time celebrating our Savior's birth.  I must admit that I had a great time, but it was not without its challenges.  To begin with, I worked around 40 hours from the 21st -23rd.  I woke up on Christmas Eve pretty sick and ended up visiting my Dr.'s office.  I then worked 6 hours on Christmas morning.  Feeling much better, I was able to have a delicious lunch (much of which was fixed by my great daughter).  I was back to work today and have 2 more shifts this week. I have decided that since I was unable to post the last 2 tags in time for you to link up, that I will extend the deadline.  You may now link your tags until Midnight on January 1.  I know that there are more tags ready to be linked and I don't want anyone to miss out.  I will plan to choose a winner on January, 1 and post it sometime late that day. Thanks for your patience.  I trust you have a great day.  Reme

I had planned for these to be finished by Christmas Eve.  Life happened and I didn't make it.  I want to post the videos quickly.  I will choose a random winner in the next couple of days.  Thanks for putting up with the crazy posting schedule. Don't forget to link up a tag for the prize. To clarify - the tag or tags you link up do not have to follow the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  Maybe next year I will limit it to this, but I feel that if I am limiting it to this theme, we should have started at the 1st of the month to allow you time to plan who you were going to give your little surprises to.  I want to see LOTS of tags this year though, so I can't wait to see what you make.  I am going to be linking my own tags to make it easier for you to click quickly on to scroll through the 12 days. Rules - 1. Link up your tag. (Please no back-linking) 2. Be a follower. I am also linking this tag to the 3 Girl JAM Christmas Inspiration Challenge. Thanks for stpp

It's back to work for me today.  I can't believe how fast the last few days flew by.  I didn't even come close to accomplishing what I needed to, so I'm going to be burning the midnight oil to get done.  I think all my shopping except for the miscellaneous food item is complete.  My kids have been banned from my bedroom though because I have presents to wrap.  I also have lots of things to make.  Let's start with the next tag - #9 and do some blending with Distress Inks. #8 tag from Ranger Distress Inks - Festive Berries. 12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 7

Have you ever just had "one of those days"?  Well today, was kind of like that for me.  I will apologize as there is not a video for Tag #7.  I accidentally deleted it when I went to copy it.  OOOPS!  It turned out cute too.  I can give you a picture though. I distressed around the edges with Iced Spruce distress ink.  I used Barn Door and Stormy Weather Distress Markers Along with a water brush pen to "watercolor" the snowman.  I used Barn Door distress ink to stamp Merry Christmas and then ran over it with the water brush pen to give it the look of water coloring.  Crystal stickles finished off the look.  Other things I used include: 3 Girl JAM - Sterling Ribbon #8 tag from Ranger Saying from here. Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge Black cardstock Glossy Accents Inkadinkadoo stamps - Ornate Christmas Watercolor paper from the dollar bins at JoAnn' Charm from eBay Don't forget to link up a tag for the prize.  Doesn't the prize package look

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day #2

Image
"On the second day of Christmas my true love brought to me, 2 turtledoves...."  Now that I have that song in your head, we can move onto the crafting.  Today's tag is pretty simple.  I really like the vintage feel of this one.  I think the recipient will as well.  It is already sitting on her doorstep waiting for her to find it (with the gift of course). 3 Girl JAM ribbon is definitely my go-to ribbon for crafting and this tag was no exception.  I grabbed Halloween Harvest because I liked the hints of red and green peeking through the gold.  It was the perfect compliment to the tag.  I also used the following items: DCWV - The Christmas matstack PaperTrey Ink - Vintage Cream card stock Black cardstock from my stash cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at 1.5" and coated with Glossy Accents Ranger #8 tags Recollection Bling Frayed Burlap Distress Ink Crystal Stickles Saying from here. Cake Birthday Card

Image
As much as I love getting ready for Christmas, I still have a lot of birthdays in the month of December.  One day this month I had 4 family birthdays (of course a set of twins in there increases the number of birthdays).  Anyway, it is definitely time to pull out the birthday sets. For this card I used the Basic Grey "Life of the Party" 6X6 inch paper pad and rub-ons.  I also used Stampendous' "Happy Messages" stamp set with jet black Archival ink.  There is a hint of Victorian Velvet distress ink as well.  The scalloped border was punched using the Fiskars "scalloped sentiment" punch.  I hand cut the sentiment "borders". It was a very simple card that is already on the way to its little owner.  I hope she likes it.  Please enjoy the video. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Merry Christmas Stickpins

Image
I have a fun project to share with you today.  Have you seen the stickpins that are out there?  I really like them and I also enjoy making them.  In today's video, I show a completed set of stickpins as well as a tutorial on how to make the holder. The pins were made using beads that I purchased from Joann's, Michaels, and Walmart.  I used Coordinations card stock for the base of my ornament and DCWV's "The First Noel" stack for the decorative element.  These were cut at 3" using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  You will have to watch the video to see how these little pin holders work. Every neat project should also have great packaging, so I placed my holders in clear cellophane bags and taped the back with tape from Recollections. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Now I know that we are all busy getting ready for Christmas, as well as just living our lives.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things!
