Close to my Heart "Skylark" Mother's Day Card

Image
I wanted to make a special Mother's Day card for my mom and I wanted to use the Skylark product line from Close to my Heart.  I don't have a Close to My Heart mother's stamp, but I was still able to create a great card using the Artiste Cricut cartridge bundle as well as some other great products.  I think she will love it because it is really her style. Since the paper was double-sided, I didn't need to choose coordinating pattern papers.  I just pulled some Daisy White and Lagoon cardstock to pull it all together.  I even used the strip from the top of the page for some extra dimension.  Lagoon and Desert Sand Exclusive inks were the perfect colors to coordinate with the paper.  Not sure where to get started but want to start making cards?  The CTMH Originals Cardmaking Program book is a great place to start.  This card is actually from that book along with a slight modification.  It is so easy to use. The video walks you t...

Good morning.  I trust that you are having a great week.  I know that I am very happy to be at home today.  I did take some time to get a pedicure.  Aweeee. It was great. Today I have 3 projects that I made for a swap at Art & Sassy.  "What are they?", you ask.  They are little pockets for a person to send postage in with their swap hosts.  They are so simple and I love the way they turned out. I used the following supplies: Card stock from K& Company.  They were just leftovers from other projects. Flowers and lace with bling from Recollections Red and kraft carstock from my stash Purple paper from Core'dinations. "Thanks" Mini Cards

Image
Good morning everyone.  I don't know about you but I have to say that fall is greeting me with its nippy mornings.  I miss the summer, but I do love the beauty of the fall and the warmth I feel snuggled into my craft room. My 14 year old son is a newspaper carrier.  Last year I made little thank you cards for everyone on his route and he signed them and included them in one of the newspapers in November.  I decided that he should carry out this tradition this year for each of the 60 or so people on his route.  These cute little cards fit the bill perfectly.  I used some Halloween Harvest , Merlot , and Sunflower 3 Girl JAM ribbon to add a special touch to these little beauties. I also used: Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge - "Card" feature cut at 5.542" wide X 2.514" high Core'dinations Safari 12X12 paper Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream card stock DCWV - Autumn Melody Matstack (2 1/4" X 2 1/8") ATG I am linking...

Christmas Gift Cards

Image
A week or two ago, I featured a birthday card that was a gift card holder.  At that time, I promised a video on how to make them.  Now I know that Christmas is long past, but you can take the concepts used in these card holders and use them for any occasion.  Grab your Cricut - Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart (CTMH).  We will be making the card on the "j" key and cutting it at 3".  I'll list the other supplies I used under each individual card.  The front piece of patterned paper was cut at 2 7/8" by 3 5/8" and the back was cut at 2 7/8X 3 7/8" for each card. White cardstock from my stash Making Memories "Believe" 6X6 pad 3 Girl JAM " Holly Berry " ribbon CTMH - ruby ink Recollections stocking stickers Cricut "Gingerbread" cartridge with gingerbread cut at 3" Brown, kraft, and white cardstock from my stash Peachy Keen "Basic Paper Doll Faces" (PK570) using the 3/8" face Archiv...

Gift Card Holder for a Guy

Image
We all know that you can use ribbon on cards for girls right?  Of course, its great for holidays and babies.  You can even squeeze it in on kid's cards now and then.  But how about those cards we need to make for all the guys on our lists?  Today, I'm going to show you that you can.  So grab your 3 Girl JAM Harvest Orange ribbon and come play along. I wanted to make a little card that I could tuck a gift card into.  I pulled out my Cricut Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart and cut this little card at 3" using the card feature and the "j" key.  I pulled a brown sheet of 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock from my stash.  Since I had everything loaded, I went ahead and cut 2 cards out at the same time.  Now I have a card to use later. I pulled a piece of paper from the MME "Fine and Dandy" 6X6 pad and cut a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 7/8" for the back and a piece at 2 7/8" X 3 5/8" for the front.  I then found my "Happy M...

Graphic 45 Happy Birthday Card

Image
Graphic 45 has some of the prettiest paper you can imagine.  I love the vintage feel and colors of many of their paper pads.  They just reached 15,000 "likes" on Facebook, so they are hosting a challenge and I wanted to get in on it.  Unfortunately, the only G45 paper that I currently own is the "ABC Primer" 8X8 pad and I needed a birthday card.  With a little creativity, I was able to make it work.  Let's jump right in. I made a 5 1/2" square card using this paper pad.  I love the way it turned out.  I think the person I made it for will love it too. Of course, I had to finish off the inside as well.  More paper and cut-outs from the pack with a hint of black provided the perfect finishing touch. Here's what I used: Graphic 45 ABC Primer in 8X8 3 Girl JAM - Holly Berry Paper Trey Ink Kraft cardstock CTMH Cricut Artiste (banner p. 35 at 1.25") and Art Philosophy cartridges (butterfly p. 55 at 2") CTMH Ruby ink CTMH Artiste Birt...
