Shabby Numbers Birthday Card

I trust you are having a supercalifragilisticexpealidoscious day!  I had a very busy work day and I am so happy to be home and in my comfy PJ's.  I made a fabulous card for my little brother's birthday.  I even thought that I made a video...until I went to turn it off.  That's when I discovered that I had never turned it ON!  Oops.  So instead, I have an old-fashioned tutorial for you.  So without further ado...

Here are most of the items that I used to make this card:
3 Girl Jam - burlap trim
Close to My Heart - Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge; Celebrations stamp set (Artist pack exclusive)
Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream cardstock
Distress Ink - antique linen, iced spruce, frayed burlap
My Mind's Eye - Cowboy 6X6 pad
Adhesive - Zig glue pin, foam adhesive, ATG, yQuick Dr

To start with, I made the base of my card from the DCWV Shimmer stack.  This sparkly paper was cut at 6"X12" and scored at 6" to from a 6" square card.  I saved the remaining piece and made the the "ribbon" that is behind the little tag.

Speaking of the tag, I cut it using the tag feature on the Art Philosophy cartridge (P.25) at 2".  The ta was trimmed from PTI Vintage Cream cardstock and then distressed with Antique Linen and Iced Spruce distress ink.  "Happy birthday " was stamped with a stamp from the "Celebrations" stamp set in Iced Blue distress ink.

The numbered background was cut at 5 1/2" from pg. 61 on the cartridge.  The paper I used for this was from the Cowboy stack.  I also cut the plaid paper from the Cowboy pad at 5 3/4" square.  The edges of both were distressed with Frayed Burlap distress ink.

The burlap trim was adhered on top of the paper layers with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.  The tag with the ribbon was then adhered with 1 layer of foam tape.

Of course I had to finish the inside so I chose another piece of paper from the Cowboy pad.  I trimmed it to about 5 3/4-5 7/8".  I used Frayed  Burlap to distress around these edges as well. Since I chose patterned paper that fit my theme, I didn't need to do anything else to it.  I have plenty of room to write now.

Since this was an abnormal sized card, I decided to go ahead and make a coordinating envelope.  Check back soon to see how that turned out.  In the meantime...

Take Time to Enjoy the Little Things Today.
