Pocket Happy Birthday Card
Hello everyone. I wanted to share a card that I made for my little nephew's birthday, but first I have an advertisement. OK it's not really an advertisement, but more of a find. The Cricut Craft Room is having a sale on all digital content. It is only good through October 31, 2012, but you can get any digital content for 31% off. There was a digital only cartridge that I have wanted that I was able to pick up for less than $7.00. So if you're looking for something, click here.
To start, I cut a piece of card stock to 4 1/4" X 11" and scored at 5 1/2". I then took a piece of barn paper from the Life of the Party stack and cut it at 4"X5 1/4". The silver circles in the corners are rivets from the CTMH stamp set. I inked them with Versamark and embossed them with silver embossing powder. The pocket was stamped with the same stamp set using vintage cream cardstock and the faded jeans distress ink. I then stamped the stitching with walnut stain distress ink. I wanted it too look like something was hanging out of the back pocket, so I cut another piece of kraft cardstock and cut it down to fit "inside" the pocket. I stamped happy birthday with walnut stain and adhered it to the pocket. After adhering the finished pocket to the woodgrain paper, I wrapped some maraschino twine around the paper and adhered it all down to the card base.
The inside was really easy to finish with the sentiment from the CTMH set and faded jeans distress ink.
Thanks for stopping by today and remember to take time to enjoy the little things.
