Black & Orange Thank You Card

The card I made today was designed to be able to be used at the Getting Cricky Super Simple Sunday Challenge at GettingCricky.com.  If you have spent much time on my blog in the last few months, you know how much I like the stamps designed by Kristal at Getting Cricky.  She just released several new stamp sets and you should really check them out.  You can do so by clicking on the store at K. Andrew Designs - here.  A portion of the proceeds of each stamp set is donated to charity.

The rules for this challenge were simple: Create a project using orange and black.  You are allowed to enter as many times as you wish (this is my second entry), and you were also allowed to use one additional color of your choice.  I chose to only use orange and black.  Here's what I came up with:

Supplies:
Black cardstock - cut at 11" X 4 1/4"
2 pieces of orange cardstock - cut at 5 1/2" X 4 1/4"
Versamark ink pad
Perfect Medium ink pad
Perfect Pearls - "Perfect Bronze" color
Ribbon - black organdy from my stash

Tools:
ATG adhesive runner
Fiskars Edge Punch
Round punch - 2" (I think)
K. Andrew Designs stamps - "Merci" exclusive
Inque Boutique - large flourish from the "Monarch" set
Martha Stewart Scoreboard

Once the paper was cut, I scored the black piece of of paper at 5 1/2", creating a 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" portrait style card.  Using the Versamark stamp pad, I stamped the large flourish onto the front of the black card, creating a watermark effect.
I set that aside to dry.

Using the Fiskars edge punch (Sorry, but I can't remember the name), I punched a scalloped edge along the bottom of each piece of orange cardstock.  I then adhered one of them to the inside of the card, creating a border that was about 1/8" on the sides and the top and a larger border across the bottom.  Punch a 2" circle above the scalloped edge of the second orange piece.

Find placement of the area to be stamped by placing the orange piece over the black, but do not adhere at this time.  Stamp the "Thanks" sentiment from the "Merci" exclusive set over the flourish using the Perfect Pearls.  If the flourish was not completely dry, be sure to use your heat embossing tool to dry it before stamping "Thanks".  Dust over the sentiment with the Perfect Bronze Perfect Pearls.  Wipe off the excess.

Tie a black bow (centered) around the the orange cardstock prepared with the 2" Circle.  Adhere the piece to the black cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed this project that was so simple.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out other posts while you're here.  Thanks again.
Cheri
