Watercolor Mini Cards of Encouragement #2

On Sunday, I shared a pretty set of mini cards that I created for a swap at Art & Sassy.  Today, I am going to share the second set.  I used the same color combinations and sentiments as in the previous set, but I used a very different technique and flower.  I decided to use masking and leave the flower white and paint the background with the watercolors.  Unfortunately, my mask wasn't quite dry enough or thick enough so the flowers ended up with a few water splashes.  I decided I liked the effect and decided to use them anyway.  I also decided that I wanted a little punch of color in the flower centers.

As in the last set, I used Hero Arts' "All Occasion Messages" and Scrappy Cat's "Sunny Days" stamp sets.

The Distress Ink pad and marker color combinations I used were:
Peacock Feathers & Salty Ocean
Picked Raspberry & Dusty Concord
Dusty Concord & Stormy Sky
Barn Door & Fired Brick
Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade

Other supplies:
Colored and white cardstock scraps from my scrappy stash
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Homemade glitter spray

I'm really not sure which set I liked better.  I must admit that I really like them both.  If you are interested in the video I made,  it is posted below.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Such a pretty set of cards. I just love how your colour wash seeped through the masking. It will defininitely make people wonder 'How did she do that?' Love your colour combinations, too. This was an awesome class, wasn't it?
