National Stroke Awareness Day
Check to see if an event is scheduled in your area.
With National Stroke Awareness Day coming up tomorrow, I thought I would talk some more about Stroke. The following tips were taken from "Reducing Risks and Recognizing Symptoms" - a fact sheet from the National Stroke Association. To view the full fact sheet click here. The following is a quick summary of what is outlined in this excellent pamphlet.
Know your blood pressure
Work with your MD to keep your blood
pressure under control!
Find out if you have Atrial
Fibrillation
Discuss care of your A-Fib with your
doctor.
Stop smoking!
If you drink alcohol, do so in
moderation.

Know your Cholesterol number.
Discuss treatment options with your doctor.
Control your Diabetes
Exercise
Decrease your Salt and Fat intake.
Talk to your doctor to discuss if you
have Circulation issues.
