Heartbeat Christmas Card

Image
How are your Christmas preparations going?  I trust that you are taking time to celebrate and worship the One Who we celebrate this holiday.  I know that I've been quiet for awhile.  Don't be fooled.  I have made a lot of cards.  I just need to get them posted. This card was made to give to the various departments in the hospital.  I wanted to spread some Christmas cheer and I thought this card would do that.  I know that the heartbeat may make you think of Valentine's Day.  However, I felt that it was perfect for healthcare workers.  SHHH..... don't tell, but it gave me an excuse to buy this die that I was having trouble justifying. Supplies you need: White card stock (I used the Walmart brand) Red cardstock (I used Ruby and Cranberry from Close To My Heart (CTMH) White embossing powder Versamark ink CTMH  "Just to Say" stamp set for the sentiment Glue (I used Gina K Connect and Scotch Quick Dry) Tape runner adhesive Tools: Vagabo...

Hot Chocolate for a Crowd

Image
It's been nearly 3 years since we made hot chocolate mix.  Yes, you heard right.  We last made hot chocolate mix in December, 2017.  Have you ever made so much hot chocolate that you mix it in a garbage bag?  That's how we like to do it.  It's also great if you're having a party or looking for a fun gift.  Just add some mix to a bag, put it in a mug, wrap in cellophane and tie it in a bow.  This year we tweaked the recipe a bit to try to make it a little more chocolaty.  Keep scrolling and I'll tell you how we changed it up. The original recipe is something that I found on the internet years ago and I have no idea of the original source. If if you know where I found it, I will be happy to link to the original source. 13 oz. malted milk (change alert #1) 22 oz coffee creamer 4 lb. powdered milk 32 oz. powdered sugar 2 (28 oz.) chocolate milk mix (change alert #2) 2 (1 lb) bags of mini- marshmallows (change alert #3) Mix in a large trash bag.  ...

Thank You 4X4 Cards

**Heavy Photo Alert** This post if full of photos instead of product lists and a video.  I was so inspired by Tim Holtz' Alcohol Ink Demo that I pulled out the alcohol inks and started playing.  After trying several techniques and color combinations, I made these pretty little thank you notes. Do you have a thankful heart?  There are so many around us who do little things to encourage us.  I am striving to have little notes on hand to say thank you and these fit the bill perfectly. To begin, I grabbed some Yupo paper, alchohol inks, rubbing alcohol, bubble wrap and blending solution. Poppyseed, Botanical, Denim, Honeycomb, Terra Cotta Purple Twilight, Denim, Indigo Sunset Orange, Terra Cotta, Honeycomb After adding the inks, I laid the bubble wrap over the top and then weighted them down to dry with items from around the craft room.  Well, I at least THOUGHT they were dry, but when I pulled the bubble wrap away, the inks began moving back together.  T...

Fall Slimline Bonus Card

This may be the longest time that I've ever gone without posting a video or any other content.  You would have thought that being home more with the pandemic, I would have spent lots of time crafting and posting.  I have actually remained quite busy at work since I'm working in a hospital.  That doesn't mean that I haven't had time to create though.  In fact, I have created a few videos which are available on my YouTube channel.  Be sure to check those out here .  I have posted the most on Instagram and even found time to post some on Facebook .  Be sure to click on the links and follow me on all the platforms to keep up with all the different content. I have also spent some time watching the Tim Holtz Demo videos.  Did you see them?  Weren't they great?  I learned so much from them that inspired me to get out supplies left long untouched and create.  Of course I found lots of things that I "needed" to add to my collection too....
