Thank You 4X4 Cards

Image
**Heavy Photo Alert** This post if full of photos instead of product lists and a video.  I was so inspired by Tim Holtz' Alcohol Ink Demo that I pulled out the alcohol inks and started playing.  After trying several techniques and color combinations, I made these pretty little thank you notes. Do you have a thankful heart?  There are so many around us who do little things to encourage us.  I am striving to have little notes on hand to say thank you and these fit the bill perfectly. To begin, I grabbed some Yupo paper, alchohol inks, rubbing alcohol, bubble wrap and blending solution. Poppyseed, Botanical, Denim, Honeycomb, Terra Cotta Purple Twilight, Denim, Indigo Sunset Orange, Terra Cotta, Honeycomb After adding the inks, I laid the bubble wrap over the top and then weighted them down to dry with items from around the craft room.  Well, I at least THOUGHT they were dry, but when I pulled the bubble wrap away, the inks began moving back together.  T...

Swan Lake Workshop Your Way

Image
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the Workshops Your Way from Close To My Heart?  Okay, you're right and I have.  However,  I just can't get over how great these kits are.  There is so much you can do with them.  When you add items, the kits become even greater.  I have set a goal to use everything in the kit by the end of November.  We will see.  Even after creating everything you see in the video, I still have quite a few pieces left in the kit.  In fact, I think that I may still have an entire piece of paper left of my favorite print of the kit. Here are the items that you will need to complete the kit in the way I did: Swan Lake Workshop Your Way Thankful For You Thin Cut Bundle Page Protectors (Pocket Plus Design 1) Page Protectors (Pocket Plus Design 3) Flip Flaps (4X6) Goldrush Exclusive Ink Pad Whisper Exclusive Ink Pad Poppy Exclusive Ink Pad Peacock Exclusive Ink Pad White Card Bases Foam Tape You will also need s...

Mini Bicycle Pop-Up Card

Image
Sometimes mistakes can be happy.  That is the case with this little thank you note.  For a full explanation, you will have to see the video, but this was a happy little mistake.  I think it is adorable. Like the one in a previous post, this little pop-up card was cut from the Seaside paper pack from Close to my Heart.  The difference is that this little cutie is about the size of an ATC card.  Though this card may look a little complicated, it is actually quite simple with Artfully Sent. The outside is finished with a simple knot using Coral crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  All in all, I think I liked the mini better than the large one. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Surprised to see a new project so soon?  I really hope that I am back.  Though still limited in time, I'm hoping that things are getting better.  So let's jump into the project and have some fun.  Today's video is a tutorial so it is a bit long. Every cute project should start with great supplies.  So here is what I used: 3 Girl JAM Aqua Splash crinkle ribbon Close to my Heart Artfully Sent and Art Philosophy Cricut cartridges Close to my Heart Seaside paper packet Close to my Heart Coral Reef sequins Lime Ice Stickles Close to my Heart Colonial White cardstock Close to my Heart " Finding the Words - Occasions " stamp set Close to my Heart Glacier and Black Exclusives ink A little bit of Stickles can really make a simple shape pop! Spring Thank You Notes

Image
I know that it is getting close to summer, so I really am no sure why I called these "Spring".  In fact, I think they scream "SUMMER".  I made these two thank you notes for some special people, but I wanted to share with them too.  I was recently on a business trip and I dropped my computer, ending its very useful and long life.  It has made getting videos done challenging so please bear with me while I am transitioning to a new computer over the next couple of weeks. The paper I used in this video will not be available after midnight MST tonight.  I'm really sorry, but again, the video was delayed longer than I planned.  However, the ink pad and stamp set are still available. Distress Watercolor Thank You Note

Image
Good morning everyone.  I have so many things to make right now that I spent some time recently crafting like mad.  I really needed to make some thank you notes and one of them had to be for a man.  There are so many fun things that you can do with Distress Inks and I have been really inspired watching Kristina Werner.  You can check out the video where I received my inspiration here .  It is pretty easy to come up with your own backgrounds by just taking a few simple steps. I also wanted to join in on the current 3 Girl JAM challenge - Yellow, Orange, and Green with Ribbon.  Doesn't that sound like a good challenge.  I knew that the 3GJ Thank You flair and the Harvest Orange would be perfect for this fun card.  You can order your own by clicking on the links within the names of the products.  Don't forget to use the code "CP10" for a discount on any 3 Girl JAM order. Christmas Thank You Notes

Image
I know that Christmas is over and you are likely moving on to winter and Valentine cards.  I'm running a bit behind and needed to make some thank you notes to send for Christmas Gifts.  One of the Christmas cards I made this year was from the Teresa Collins Christmas Silhouette images that were free in the Cricut Craft Room during the holidays. You can see those cards by clicking here .  At that time, I saved the negative space and planned to make more Christmas cards with them.  I never could quite come up with a design for them though.  One day as I was thinking about all those negative spaces on my desk, I came up with the idea for these thank you notes. I used the following materials: Negative space left over from the Teresa Collins cuts from various solid papers Recollections "Shades of Red" cardstock Core'dinations "Krafty" cardstock The Paper Studio "Holiday" cardstock Versamark ink and white embossing powder Martha Stewart bakers...

"Thanks" Mini Cards

Image
Good morning everyone.  I don't know about you but I have to say that fall is greeting me with its nippy mornings.  I miss the summer, but I do love the beauty of the fall and the warmth I feel snuggled into my craft room. My 14 year old son is a newspaper carrier.  Last year I made little thank you cards for everyone on his route and he signed them and included them in one of the newspapers in November.  I decided that he should carry out this tradition this year for each of the 60 or so people on his route.  These cute little cards fit the bill perfectly.  I used some Halloween Harvest , Merlot , and Sunflower 3 Girl JAM ribbon to add a special touch to these little beauties. I also used: Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge - "Card" feature cut at 5.542" wide X 2.514" high Core'dinations Safari 12X12 paper Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream card stock DCWV - Autumn Melody Matstack (2 1/4" X 2 1/8") ATG I am linking...

Krafty Squares Quick & Easy Cards

Click HERE to join the current giveaway. I was going through a small stash of cards that I have and I found some cards that I made back in May.  You can find out all about them by clicking here .  Though they are square and smaller than an A2 sized card, I think they are cute.  More importantly, they provided the perfect inspiration for today's cards.  I made 5 cards and they went together very quickly. Here are the supplies and tools I used to get started: Paper trimmer and Martha Stewart Scoreboard Hero Arts "All Occasion Messages" stamp set "Blossom Soup" 6X6 paper pad from Jillibean Soup Kraft Cardstock (base) Memnto Tuxedo Black ink 3 Girl JAM - Aqua Splash and Dress White White - Sakura Gelly Roll pen ATG To begin: Cut an 8.5" X 11" piece of Kraft cardstock in half and score to form a 4.25" X 5.5" card base.  Cut 1.5" squares from several different papers.  Adhere them along the top and bottom of the card a...

OWH Sketch #182 Challenge Cards

Image
As soon as I saw the current sketch at Operation Write Home, I knew that I had to use it to make some cards.  I needed to make a sympathy card as well as a thank you card.  However, by the time I stopped for the night, I had made 9 different cards with variations of this sketch.  Actually, the paper used for 2 of the cards didn't fit the sketch, so we will just call them bonus cards.  With the exception of the card bases, all the cards were made using scraps. Some sketches are just perfect for scraps.  Now on to the cards: Supplies: K&Company "ancestry.com" paper pack Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream Cardstock Memento Tuxedo Black ink K.
