Fall Slimline Card

Image
Fall is here and I am feeling all the cozy vibes and just want to settle into being at home.  Even though that isn't often possible, I can still enjoy being home when I am there and really focus on enjoying the little things.  One of these little things to enjoy is trying new things - like this slimline card craze that is going around.  This was the perfect card for it.  There's even a video so grab a snack and a cozy blanket and enjoy.  Better yet, watch it while you are creating something great. Here's what you need to get started: Stamps: Close To My Heart "Beautiful You" and "Sent and Delivered" sets Inks: Archival Jet Black; Versamark; Crackling Campfire, Peeled Paint and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks Cardstock: White 110#, Paper Trey Ink Kraft Paper Studio Kraft Envelope Stencil: Tim Holtz THS077 Crackling Campfire Embossing Glaze Clear Sequins Gina K Connect Glue A coordinating envelope was accomplished by stamping a sentiment on the flap with ...

Fall Slimline Bonus Card

Image
This may be the longest time that I've ever gone without posting a video or any other content.  You would have thought that being home more with the pandemic, I would have spent lots of time crafting and posting.  I have actually remained quite busy at work since I'm working in a hospital.  That doesn't mean that I haven't had time to create though.  In fact, I have created a few videos which are available on my YouTube channel.  Be sure to check those out here .  I have posted the most on Instagram and even found time to post some on Facebook .  Be sure to click on the links and follow me on all the platforms to keep up with all the different content. I have also spent some time watching the Tim Holtz Demo videos.  Did you see them?  Weren't they great?  I learned so much from them that inspired me to get out supplies left long untouched and create.  Of course I found lots of things that I "needed" to add to my collection too....

Swan Lake Workshop Your Way

Image
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the Workshops Your Way from Close To My Heart?  Okay, you're right and I have.  However,  I just can't get over how great these kits are.  There is so much you can do with them.  When you add items, the kits become even greater.  I have set a goal to use everything in the kit by the end of November.  We will see.  Even after creating everything you see in the video, I still have quite a few pieces left in the kit.  In fact, I think that I may still have an entire piece of paper left of my favorite print of the kit. Here are the items that you will need to complete the kit in the way I did: Swan Lake Workshop Your Way Thankful For You Thin Cut Bundle Page Protectors (Pocket Plus Design 1) Page Protectors (Pocket Plus Design 3) Flip Flaps (4X6) Goldrush Exclusive Ink Pad Whisper Exclusive Ink Pad Poppy Exclusive Ink Pad Peacock Exclusive Ink Pad White Card Bases Foam Tape You will also need s...

Creating Kindness

Image
I truly believe that we are not on this earth for our own pleasure.  God has given each of us talents to be an encouragement to others and we can always show kindness.  I think this is one of the reasons that I like this month's Close To My Heart campaign so much.  It is a good reminder to take a few minutes to show kindness to others.  This little kit contains EVERYTHING you need to make simple cards.   However, you can spruce it up a bit with watercolors or markers.  Add some shapes from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and it steps up a bit more.  The possibilities are endless. I like this so much and I plan to continue the concept through October.  Watch for other ways to "Create Kindness" in the coming weeks. I really would love to have you join me in a Creating Kindness Challenge.  Of course I would love for you to purchase this kit from me here.  In fact, anyone who purchases this kit from me will receive a smal...

You Are Worth Celebrating - Blossom Bonus Card

Image
Nearly every month, I get together with a nice group of ladies and we create with Close To My Heart products. Often we will use a Workshop on the Go.  When we use those, there are always extra supplies.  I encourage each lady to make something using those extra supplies.  Sometimes I will choose a theme to follow and other times, its just "Anything Goes". In June, we used the Blossom Workshop on the Go which you can find here.   This set comes with all the paper supplies, embellishments and a stamp set that you need to make 15 cards.  Simply add adhesive and ink and you're ready to go.  I then began using the scraps to make extra projects. This card was made completely from the "leftovers".  I think it is beautiful.  I love the colors and the way everything blends so well together.  All I had to add was the adhesive and Black Exclusives ink which here can find here .     Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to...

Picture My Life Cardmaking Project

Image
Who says Picture My Life is just for photos?  I have seen people on YouTube use the cards to make greeting cards and I wanted to give it a try for myself.  I've done things like this in the past with My Crush cards but I love the way it turned out with the Picture My Life cards. This card was made by simply cutting a little from each side of a Later Sk8r 4x6 card and attaching it to a Colonial White card base .  I then added some small strips of silver shimmer trim and I was done.  Super cute and super easy! For the second card, I started with a Colonial White card base .  I then took one of the 3x4 cards from the Babycakes Picture My Life set and mounted it to a 3.5x4.5 piece of Pear cardstock that had been rounded at the corners.  I then stamped a sentiment from February's Stamp of the Month in Black Exclusives ink . To finish off the inside, I took another piece of Pear cardstock and mounted it to the inside of the card.  I used the ...

Confetti Wishes Card

Image
Top-o-the- morning to you.  I trust you are having a great day.  I wanted to share this card that I designed using the Confetti Wishes paper pack from Close to my Heart.  This is one of the bonus cards available in my workshop clubs.  This was so fun to make and I think it may have been everyone's favorite. I used 2 different techniques on the background paper - tone-on-tone and heat embossing.  Though I don't have Close to my Heart embossing tools or powders or gold shimmer tape, you can find them at my Close to my Heart store here .  I also used the following: Confetti Wishes paper Lagoon cardstock and Ink pad White Daisy cardstock Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge Lovely Birthday stamp set Have you thought about joining a club?  I think you will be glad you did. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Ivy Lane Friendship Cards

Image
I made 3 cards today using the Ivy Lane Workshop on the Go from Close to my Heart.  Unfortunately, this kit is all gone but the paper pack is still available.  This kit really didn't catch my eye until I was actually preparing for the workshop.  Now I have to say that I love it.  I'm so glad that I purchased some of the paper to make my own cards.  You can still purchase the paper packet here .  Then you can put your own twist on this paper with your own stamps and embellishments. Cocoa , Pear , Hollyhock , and Bamboo Exclusive Inks are perfect matches for this paper.  You can purchase your inks by clicking on each ink color name. Don't forget that I have some great specials going on right now.  Click here to view them.  You don't want to miss out. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Close to my Heart Thursday - I Love You Card

Image
I know that it is a few days past Thursday but I still wanted to share a fun project with you.  One of the things that I love about being a Close to my Heart Independent Consultant is sharing the fabulous products they make with you while by creating great things for the ones that I love.  Today I wanted to make something for my wonderful husband. Have you ever looked at a piece (or a package) of paper and realize that you really want to use it, but that it just doesn't fit the theme of your project?  Today I take a beautiful and feminine paper pack and pull papers from it to create a masculine card.  Even a hint of flowers here and there can work for the men in your life and I think this card demonstrates that perfectly.  By using bold embellishments with small bits of the the floral pattern, a neutral or masculine card was created.  I was even able to pull in one of my favorite things - watercolors. Products Used (Click on the CTMH names to purchas...

Close To My Heart Thursday - Timberline Love Card

Image
I wanted to make a special card for my husband when the inspiration for this card came to me.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make when my eyes fell on a scrap from the Timberline Collection from Close To My Heart.  The piece was a cut I had made from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge from another project.  I had also been working on the Lollydoodle Cardmaker's Workshop on the Go and found the perfect stamp set.  Unfortunately, this stamp set is currently only available if you purchase the workshop, but I must say that it is a great kit.  As it ended up, all the paper for this card was from my scraps or old Cricut cuts.  Woo Hoo!  I love using up my leftovers. Close to my Heart Supplies Used: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Timberline Paper Pack Lagoon Exclusives Cardstock Lagoon Exclusive Ink Slate Exclusive Ink Lollydoodle Card Maker's Workshop on the Go (I only used the stamp set) Durables Triangle Studs Other products used: W...
