Good Morning.  Now I know that Christmas is just barely over and the New Year is nearly upon us.  Where has the time flown?  You may remember that I have enjoyed participating in swaps at Art and Sassy.  I have been invited to be one of the hosts on the sight.  This is a fun place to swap projects and ideas and I feel quite privileged to be able to participate.  So despite the fact that my Christmas tree is still up, I wanted to post this Valentine's project now to introduce you to a swap in January that I am hosting.  If you would like to participate in the swap, click here and request to be added to the site. This swap is all about stickpins and a place to hold them.  I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and the Cricut craft room to create this first stick pin holder.  The beads were a combination of Cousins and Blue Moon Beads brands as well as some from my stash.  The ribbon is the red ribbon candy from 3 Girl JAM. ...

Happy 4th of July.  I am so thankful to live in this great country.  I trust that everyone will have a great and safe time celebrating our country's birthday.  I think that crafting for the 4th of July is so much fun and I wanted to share this little craft with you today. I enjoy participating in swaps.  One of my favorite items to swap is stick pins because they are so pretty.  I recently participated in a red, white, and blue stick pin swap.  The stick pins have to be in a holder of some kind.  As I was playing on Pinterest recently, I ran across these pinwheel hair clips .  I decided that they would make a perfect holder for this month's stick pins once I modified them to fit my needs.  That's right - 2 fun gifts in 1. I'm so sorry that I missed yesterday's Valentine post.  I just didn't get there.  Since I didn't make it, there will be 2 posts today.  Check back later today to see the second post.  This post is all about stick pins.  I really like stick pins.  They are simple to make and make a nice addition to cards, layouts, and ATC's.  They are also fun to swap and these were made for a swap over at artandsassy.ning.com.  I always make myself a set while I'm at it.  Today, I made an extra set to add to the Giveaway package. I have a fun project to share with you today.  Have you seen the stickpins that are out there?  I really like them and I also enjoy making them.  In today's video, I show a completed set of stickpins as well as a tutorial on how to make the holder. The pins were made using beads that I purchased from Joann's, Michaels, and Walmart.  I used Coordinations card stock for the base of my ornament and DCWV's "The First Noel" stack for the decorative element.  These were cut at 3" using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  You will have to watch the video to see how these little pin holders work. Every neat project should also have great packaging, so I placed my holders in clear cellophane bags and taped the back with tape from Recollections. Hello everyone.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I have a "Little Thing" project that turned out to be so fun and pretty. The project was to make stick pins for a swap over at CraftHappens.ning.com.  Here are the rules: Make a 2.5-3" stick pin Use at least 4 different things on your pins Choose any color Make 3 sets of 3 pins (They can be the same or different, but have to be in the same color scheme) I made my holder from die cuts from the "Fall" Tim Coffey set by K and Company.  The little tag made by stamping the sentiment from the K. Andrew Designs "Fall-o-ween" stamp set in Black Soot distress ink.  I then inked around the edges of the sentiment box with Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves distress inks.  Be sure to check out the video for a full tutorial on making the pins as well as the little holders.
