Happy Birthday Card with Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls

Image
I recently went on a camping trip and decided to take my Distress Inks and watercolors along.  I found this amazing technique while watching Jennifer McGuire ( here ) and knew that I wanted to try it.  I still haven't done the full technique, but I really like the way this card turned out with the "partial" technique.  Before we get into the card though, here's some news you might want to know>>> August Special There are a few Close To My Heart Specials this month.  To see all of the specials click here .  However, I am also running a personal special.  Anyone who purchases $100 between now and August 3, 2015 from my Close To My Heart site, will receive one of the brand new paper packs absolutely free.  Here's how it will work: Click HERE to enter the site. Click on the "Artistry" Gathering in the bottom right part of the home page. Order your products (but not your "free" paper). On September 1st, I will contact you via ema...

Sparkly Chevron Birthday Card

Image
Top of the morning everyone.  I trust you are having a great day.  I have a super fun project that was inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  You can see her original video by clicking here .  My daughter really likes teal and brown and she also likes chevrons.  She recently celebrated her 19th birthday so I decided I would use teal along with the brand new LG bundle from 3 Girl JAM to create a sparkly fun birthday card for her.  I used silver to replace the brown. The video will walk you through the glitter techniques as well as the card making process, so I am just going to list the supplies I used here: Cricut Close to my Heart Art Philosophy cartridge and stamp set bundle Teal and Grey cardstock from my stash Paper Trey Ink white cardstock (card base) Perfect medium and Pewter Perfect Pearls Silver Glitter from EK Success Teal glitter from a scrapbooking store (? brand) 9" Xyron Heidi Swapp Chevron stencil ATG and foam tape LG Bundle from 3 Girl...

Black & Orange Thank You Card

Image
The card I made today was designed to be able to be used at the Getting Cricky Super Simple Sunday Challenge at GettingCricky.com .  If you have spent much time on my blog in the last few months, you know how much I like the stamps designed by Kristal at Getting Cricky.  She just released several new stamp sets and you should really check them out.  You can do so by clicking on the store at K. Andrew Designs - here .  A portion of the proceeds of each stamp set is donated to charity. The rules for this challenge were simple: Create a project using orange and black.  You are allowed to enter as many times as you wish (this is my second entry), and you were also allowed to use one additional color of your choice.  I chose to only use orange and black.  Here's what I came up with: Supplies: Black cardstock - cut at 11" X 4 1/4" 2 pieces of orange cardstock - cut at 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" Versamark ink pad Perfect Medium ink pad Perfect Pearls - "Per...

Orange & Black "Great Day" Card

Image
This card was created for the Super Sunday Challenge at GettingCricky.com.  The rules were that you had to use orange and black and you could include one other color.  I chose to keep it to the 2 colors only.  This was a fun card that I created "on the fly".  Watch the video below to find out how I created the background for the front of the card. The sentiment on the inside of the card was stamped using "Coffee & Tea for You & Me" by K. Andrew Designs.  Find out how I achieved the shimmery effect on the sentiment by watching the video. Thanks for stopping by today.  I think I may just do some other cards with these techniques.  Hmm...
