You and Me Anniversary Card

Image
Good morning everyone.  I would like to welcome you to a new year on DJ's Sundries.  I am so happy that you chose to stop by today. Have you ever had one of those projects that changed completely after you got started?  That kind of happened to me with this card.  I had planned to use some 3 Girl JAM Merlot ribbon on the front of the card, but when I went to grab it, I had used all of mine.  No worries, I already let Julie know that I need more.  Instead, I used some of the new Jute ribbon in the same color.  I think I like the finished project even better.  It definitely looks more masculine than a soft ribbon bow would have looked. Supplies: 3 Girl JAM Jute ribbon (get yours here and be sure to use the code CP10 to let Julie know that I sent you over) Fancy Pants "Love Note" 6X6 paper pad Core'dinations "Juneberry"smooth card stock Echo Park "Your's Truly" sticker set Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge Crystal Stickles Foam tape ...

Happy July 4th Card

Image
Typically, I don't spend much crafty time on projects for the 4th of July.  That is really a shame because there are so many fun things you can do to decorate and to celebrate.  I decided that this year I would do a mini series of blog posts and videos that celebrate Independence Day.  There will be 4 days worth of posts that will showcase a variety of items. Kicking off day one will be this fun card for the 4th.  I typically don't send cards on July 4th.  I told my husband that I think that this was the first project that I have ever posted that wasn't intended for someone or something in particular.  I actually decided to give it to a sweet toddler in our church.  There were some other little goodies that I gave with it, including an altered mini composition book that took less than 5 minutes to make (and I didn't get a picture). I used the following products: Red, white, and blue crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM Core'dinations - Tim Holt...

Mother's Day Card

Image
This beautiful card is definitely not my normal style of card.  To start with, I chose a different size than I usually make.  Normally, I wouldn't run my distress tool around this type of card, but I decided to just go for it and lightly distressed around ALL the layers on the outside of the card with my Tim Holtz Distress Tool.  Here's what you need: Paper Trey Ink Vintage Cream cardstock - cut 11" X 5 1/2" + a piece to die cut "Mother" Dark Blue paper - cut at 5 1/4" X 5 1/4" + a 2" X 4" piece (from my stash) Tradewinds matstack - 2 coordinating pieces 5" wide - the light piece was 4 1/2" high and I believe the dark piece was 2" high Offray ribbon Prima flowers Blue misting spray Cricut "Heritage" cartridge I used some of the scraps from the Tradewinds matstack to finish off the inside of the card.  For more information, please see the video. I am linking this to the following...

Dad's Day Cards

Image
Today I have several cards that I made for Operation Write Home as well as for my own dad.  This post will be pretty photo heavy as well as a video tutorial, so let's get started. Now I know that the video is longer than normal, but in it I walk you through making 3 cards as well as show you some other variations I made.  A little variety is a good thing, don't you think? I used Papertrey Ink "Kraft" card stock for my base.  The black came from a package of black that I have, but I don't remember which brand.  The colored pieces were all scraps from my scrap stash.  The letters I used were from EK Success as well as some very old letters I had in my stash.  I used K. Andrew Designs "Of Mice and Lil' Men"as well as "Owly Hoo" to stamp the sentiments.  3 Girl Jam "Witches Brew" is used on the one version of the card that has ribbon on it.  The "stitching" was made with a black Zig pen and all the stamping was do...

"Easter Blessings" - Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge

Image
Welcome to another Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky.  Today's challenge is to make an Easter project.  Now I love to celebrate Easter.  I am so thankful that Jesus rose again from the grave and this is the perfect time to celebrate that! I made a card for today's project and I used 2 sets of stamps from K. Andrew Designs - Fall-O-Ween and Scripture Sayings.  Kristal, from K. Andrew Designs donates a portion of the proceeds from each set of stamps to charity.  It is also very important to her that they are made in the USA.  You are helping others when you purchase these stamps. Now for today's project.  This card was pretty simple once I designed it and found the papers I wanted to use. I used Vintage Cream card stock from Paper Trey Ink for my card base (5 1/2 X 4 1/4) and as my anchor color.  I used the Lavender Chateau matstack from DCWV for all the other papers.  The octagons were made using Spellbinders dies. The...
