 How are your Christmas preparations going?  I trust that you are taking time to celebrate and worship the One Who we celebrate this holiday.  I know that I've been quiet for awhile.  Don't be fooled.  I have made a lot of cards.  I just need to get them posted. This card was made to give to the various departments in the hospital.  I wanted to spread some Christmas cheer and I thought this card would do that.  I know that the heartbeat may make you think of Valentine's Day.  However, I felt that it was perfect for healthcare workers.  SHHH..... don't tell, but it gave me an excuse to buy this die that I was having trouble justifying. It feels like it's been forever since I posted a project.  Life has been so busy and I simply have not been able to catch up.  I was so excited to spend a little time in my crafty space on a relaxing Sunday afternoon between church services. How many Christmas cards do you typically send out?  Between what I hand deliver and what I mail, I easily need around 100 per year.  It's time to get started on them.  I did find a few very nice pre-printed ones that we used several years ago.  Though I plan to use some of those, I'm still going to need a bunch more.  I can now say that I have 6 done and ready!  Yeah!!!! Did you think I would have another Christmas Card so soon?  A few weeks ago, I talked about remaking cards found online.  This week, I am re-making a card that I found in the 2014-2015 Close To My Heart Idea Book.  This card was cut using "Artfully Sent" and it was beautiful. Christmas is coming fast!  I want to have a large variety of Christmas cards this year.  I send so many, that I know that I have to start early.  I also know that I have loved playing with my new Close To My Heart watercolors.  This image is perfect for watercolors! I used "Sing Glory" and "To You and Yours" stamp sets from Close To My Heart.  Unfortunately, they aren't currently available, but you might be able to find them online somewhere.  I also used the "Yuletide Carol" paper pack which is also retired. I wanted to do a CAS Christmas Card that uses up some scraps and could be quickly produced in multiples.  Though I haven't decided on this year's Christmas card yet, something like this may very well be at the top of the list as I typically send 75-100 cards and I think this year will be super busy.  Last year, the Cricut Craft Room opened up a few free images from Teresa Collins.  I missed out because they were gone before I could cut any out.  Guess what?  They're back along with a few others.  If you haven't signed up for the Cricut Craft Room, you really should.  It's easy to use and the freebies are great! I had a great picture in my head that I had a difficult time bringing to paper.  I originally planned to use printed cardstock, but struggled to make that work. I made a few, but the solids were my favorites. I used Ink-a-dink-a do's "Ornate Christmas" and on the inside, I used CTMH's Everlasting Holidays. The printed papers used were all scraps from my stash.  I used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge for the framed backgrounds. Even though we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet, I need to be working on Christmas cards.  I generally send or hand deliver more than 100, so I need to get a head start.  I decided to make some today and will post more in the future. I have really enjoyed seeing the night sky backgrounds this year on YouTube.  While thinking of those coupled with a snow scene card I saw on YouTube (maybe on the Simon Says Stamp channel, but not sure), I developed this pretty card in my head .  Unfortunately, I didn't have the colors of distress ink that seem to be popular for the night sky scenes, so I pulled the colors I did have and played with them until I achieved a combination that worked for me.  I really liked the way these turned out and may make more later in the Christmas season. A week or two ago, I featured a birthday card that was a gift card holder.  At that time, I promised a video on how to make them.  Now I know that Christmas is long past, but you can take the concepts used in these card holders and use them for any occasion.  Grab your Cricut - Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart (CTMH).  We will be making the card on the "j" key and cutting it at 3".  I'll list the other supplies I used under each individual card.  The front piece of patterned paper was cut at 2 7/8" by 3 5/8" and the back was cut at 2 7/8X 3 7/8" for each card. I am finally getting around to posting this year's Christmas card.  I know its a little late.  I saw a white on white card while blog hopping one day.  I had planned to do something else for this year's card, but when I saw this one, I quickly changed my mind.  The little pop of red is a great accent.  The sentiment on the inside can be seen on the video and was from a stamp I picked up from Hobby Lobby.  "Merry Christmas" is from K. Andrew Design's "Winter Wishes" set and can be found by clicking on the picture below. I trust you had a Merry Christmas.  Enjoy the video.

I really had not intended to start Christmas cards yet.  However, I purchased this cartridge for my mother-in-law who is a new Cricut owner.  I wanted to make sure I understood how to use it so that I could answer any questions that arise.  This video is more than just a card tutorial.  It is also a walk-through of the Scandinavian Christmas Card Cricut cartridge.   The card base was cut at 5", forming a card that was 5" tall X 4.25" wide.  The tree (Tree #2) and its layers were cut at 3".  Peapod "green" twine from the Twinery provided a simple finishing touch.  I hope you enjoy the card and the walk-through.  Thanks for watching.
