I know that I recently posted a chunky ATC, but I really wanted to post these as well.  I have decided that I need to keep a small stash in my purse to be able to hand out like business cards.  I want to change them with the seasons and /or holidays so I am only making a few at a time.  They will also be enclosed with swaps as appropriate. Revisiting Old Cricut Cartridges - Enjoy the Summer

Image
I needed to pull out my Imagine and make some cuts to make sure that it was working correctly after a recent electrical problem at my house.  I thought this was the perfect time to feature an Imagine cartridge as we are featuring older cartridges right now.  I pulled out my "Best Friends" cartridge (which I don't believe had ever been used) and make a cute card. Supplies Used: Cricut Imagine "Best Friends" cartridge Miscellaneous white cardstock from my stash Crystal Stickles K. Andrew Designs "Splashtastic Summer" stamp set Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink The Paper Studio - white cardstock from the Holiday pack Blue "rhinestone" bling from Michaels Scotch foam tape and ATG Can you believe that the image as well as the color and patterned papers all come from the same cartridge?  Be sure to watch the video for full instructions. OWH Sketch #182 Challenge Cards

Image
As soon as I saw the current sketch at Operation Write Home, I knew that I had to use it to make some cards.  I needed to make a sympathy card as well as a thank you card.  However, by the time I stopped for the night, I had made 9 different cards with variations of this sketch.  Actually, the paper used for 2 of the cards didn't fit the sketch, so we will just call them bonus cards.  With the exception of the card bases, all the cards were made using scraps. Some sketches are just perfect for scraps.  Now on to the cards: Supplies: K&Company "ancestry.com" paper pack Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream Cardstock Memento Tuxedo Black ink K. Andrew Designs - Sympathetic Sayings stamp set Supplies: Scraps from my stash Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream Cardstock Barn Red - Distress Ink marker Stampendous - "Happy Messages" stamp set MME - Lime Twist twine - red/ white Archival "Coffee" ink Supplies: Paper Trey Ink - White card...

4th of July Treat Baskets

Image
Because the ER never closes, I am scheduled to work today.  I took some treats along to my co-workers.  To start out, I made a treat basket using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2.  This first video gives some tips using this fun cartridge.  I used textured card stock from The Paper Studio to cut the basket. I decided to then decorate the basket using the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge.  I used scraps of red, white, and blue paper from my stash.  I also used some paper from K&Company's Americana 4X6 pad.  The basket was completed with shear white ribbon from my stash.  The centers of the flowers were finished off with bling from Meghan Elizabeth and a pearl from Michael's. Of course, a treat basket needs to be filled with treats so I picked up some clear bags from Wilton and filled them with red, white, and blue M&M's.  I closed each bag with some blue ribbon from Ofray.  Leftover chipboard stars and heart that were cut us...

Happy July 4th Card

Image
Typically, I don't spend much crafty time on projects for the 4th of July.  That is really a shame because there are so many fun things you can do to decorate and to celebrate.  I decided that this year I would do a mini series of blog posts and videos that celebrate Independence Day.  There will be 4 days worth of posts that will showcase a variety of items. Kicking off day one will be this fun card for the 4th.  I typically don't send cards on July 4th.  I told my husband that I think that this was the first project that I have ever posted that wasn't intended for someone or something in particular.  I actually decided to give it to a sweet toddler in our church.  There were some other little goodies that I gave with it, including an altered mini composition book that took less than 5 minutes to make (and I didn't get a picture). I used the following products: Red, white, and blue crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM Core'dinations - Tim Holt...

Wedding Card Time

Image
Today I have a special card to share with you.  One of my dearest friends has a daughter who is getting married.  Many years ago, I was a teacher's aid in a Christian school.  My friend was a co-worker and her 3 year old daughter was part of our kindergarten class.  Now this precious 3 year old is all grown up, graduated from college, and getting married.  Yep, I'm getting OLD. While designing the card, I realized that I have very limited stamps for wedding cards.  When this happens, its time to get creative with the stamps you have, right?  As you can see, you could also use this card for other occasions since it isn't "sentiment exclusive".  I have discovered that the "Dress White" from the new Navy bundle at 3 Girl JAM is the perfect color choice for a white wedding card.  You can find yours here . The main paper I chose is from the beautiful "Couture" 6X6 pad from SEI.  I also used paper from Paper Trey Ink. Embellishments...

New Release Blog Hop - Altered Canvas

Image
Welcome to the new release blog hop at 3 Girl JAM.  I am so happy to be sharing these new colors today.  If you hopped over from Carri, you are in the right spot.  If you just happened on to my blog today, be sure to head over to see Julie's post here . Now on to my project for today.  I decided that I wanted to alter a canvas.  Though this is not the first canvas that I have altered, it is unlike anything that I have attempted.  I must say that it was quite enjoyable to make and wasn't difficult at all.  My favorite color of all of the new colors is without a doubt Purple Passion.  I decided that I would keep this project for myself. Besides Purple Passion, I also used a lot of other supplies: Canvas board Faber Castell Gelatos Prima - Mixed Media Doll by Julie Nutting Tim Holtz - Black Soot Distress Ink, Old Paper and Dusty Concord Distress Markers, Heartfelt stamp set, Milled Lavender Distress Stickles Studio G - glitter glue ...

Birdie Birthday

How many nursery rhymes pop into your head when you think of rain?  Undoubtedly a few.  Today's 3 Girl JAM challenge is all about April Showers.  The Cricut "Imagine More" cartridge had the perfect image for the theme so I decided to use it to get started.  3 Girl JAM Red crinkle ribbon from the Red, White, and Blue pack was the perfect accent for this card.  Unfortunately, this color is not currently available, but there are other reds available and some new colors are coming soon. Other supplies: Echo Park  - Dots and Stripes 6X6 pad Spellbinders - Labels #5 Archival Black ink Adhesive Glossy Accents Red Stickles Stampendous - "Happy Messages" stamp set K. Andrew Designs - "Splashtastic Summer" stamp set 3 Girl JAM Bowmaker (found here ) In the video, I not only walk you through the card, but I also show you how I made the pretty little bow with the 3 Girl JAM bowmaker.  It is so simple to use and fun too. So come and play a...

Stamped Valentines - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
Welcome to day 8 of the 14 Days of Valentines.  It's hard to believe that we are over halfway through these posts.  I have had a lot of fun.  I hope you have too.  Today's Valentines were made to be 4X4 cards and each was stamped. For all the card bases, cardstock from The Paper Studio's "Holiday" pack was used. The patterned papers were from K & Company (using up scraps) and from The Paper Studio ("Black and White Doodle Hearts" and "Be My Valentine") The stamps were: "Apple of My Eye" and "Cuckoo for You" from We R Memory Keepers "I Heart You" from K. Andrew Designs "Chocolate Box", "Envelope", and "Cupcake" from the Sweet Cheri collection by Imaginisce I used Jenny Bowlin "Cough Syrup"  and Ranger Archival black ink to stamp the images and sentiments.  Some of the images were stamped after coloring the stamp with Zig markers.  Other images were s...

Sympathy Card

Image
Hello again everyone.  I normally try to have a happy, upbeat project to share, but there's more to life than happiness.  There are sad times too.  One of the things I hope that I can always do with my cards is to bless someone else.  This card was designed for that reason. I love the simple elegance of black and cream.  Antique White 3 Girl JAM ribbon adds that final perfect.  I decided not to add anything to the front of the card except paper and ribbon and to just keep it simple.  I also used: DCWV - La Creme Matstack - 2 pieces cut at 5.25"X4" (one for the patterned base of the front of the card and a second one for the inside of the card); one piece cut at 5" X 2 ") Archival ink - Jet Black ATG adhesive Black cardstock base from my stash (8.5" X 5.5" - score at 4.5") K. Andrew Designs - "Sympathetic Sayings" stamp set That's it.  Super simple!  The sentiment is tucked into the inside of the card. Thanks so ...

Anniversary Card

Image
Good morning everyone.  I trust you are having a great start to this new year.  OK it's not really a secret, but 22 years ago I started out the new year right.  I married my best friend on January 1.  Why we chose that date is a bit of a story, so we will skip that for now and get on to the project.  I really wanted to make my husband a special card.  Hot chocolate and antique white 3 Girl JAM ribbon provided a nice finishing touch. To make the ribbon medallion, I pulled out my 2" Fiskars circle punch, and my 1" Martha Stewart circle punch.  I punched a 2" circle out of a scrap of card stock and then punched the middle out using the 1" punch.  I twisted the antique white ribbon around the disk and glued it down with Scotch Quick Dry.  I then folded a piece of hot chocolate ribbon in half and added the accent color.  The "P" was stamped on a piece of Paper Trey Ink Vintage Cream card stock using a CTMH monogram stamp and Iced Spruce...
