Congratulations Card

Image
Today I am going to share a card that I recently made.  However, there is no video for it.  It is the first time I've posted a project in quite awhile.  That means you get to see it first. For this card, I pulled a couple of "oldie but goodie" stamp sets.  When I was cleaning out my craft room, there was no way that I was going to clean out my Tim Holtz stamps.  This old car from "The Journey" set is one that I have used for masculine cards many times and it fit the bill perfectly for this retirement card for my boss. I also used the following items - Ruby and Fern from the Enchantment Cardstock pack found here . "Just to Say" retired stamp set from Close To My Heart Patterned paper from the Enchantment Fundamentals pack found here . Archival black ink Foam tape This ended up being a pretty simple project but the color combination was perfect.  Come back soon for some more projects and tips. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to ...

"Heartfelt" Watercolor Tag

Image
I really hope that you are not all getting tired of watercolor projects because I am having so much fun making them.  You should see some variety soon.  As I was waiting on another project to dry a bit, I decided that I wanted to use watercolor techniques to create this little tag for my husband.  It was made from a piece of left over Strathmore Watercolor Paper (90#) and Distress Inks.  Of course 3 Girl JAM ribbon finished it off beautifully.  It took just a few minutes to make and was the perfect compliment for a little "I love you" gift. Items used: 3 Girl JAM Aqua Splash and Dress White crinkle ribbons Strathmore Watercolor paper (90#) Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Inks Tim Holtz Heartfelt stamp set Sequins from Mainstays (Walmart brand) Tim Holtz tiny attatcher Memento Tuxedo Black ink Don't forget that there is still time to enter the "Anything Goes with Ribbon" challenge at 3 Girl JAM.  You could win some delicious 3GJ C...

Elegant Vintage Birthday Card

Image
Birthdays are so special, especially when one has reached a great age.  Today I am sharing a card that I have made for a friend who will soon be turning 80.  It was a simple card to make while remaining elegant.  It is also quite masculine. Supplies: DWCV - La Creme Matstack Grey Cardstock Tim Holtz - Playful Journey stamp set Hero Arts - All Occasion Messages stamp set Versamark White embossing powder Trim You have to look closely to see the vintage truck watermark on the inside of the card but it is there. How about a video? Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Angel Christmas Cards

Image
Even though we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet, I need to be working on Christmas cards.  I generally send or hand deliver more than 100, so I need to get a head start.  I decided to make some today and will post more in the future. I have really enjoyed seeing the night sky backgrounds this year on YouTube.  While thinking of those coupled with a snow scene card I saw on YouTube (maybe on the Simon Says Stamp channel, but not sure), I developed this pretty card in my head .  Unfortunately, I didn't have the colors of distress ink that seem to be popular for the night sky scenes, so I pulled the colors I did have and played with them until I achieved a combination that worked for me.  I really liked the way these turned out and may make more later in the Christmas season. I used the following products: Paper Trey Inc - white cardstock Georgia Pacific - white cardstock (to line the card) Recollections - teal cardstock from the "Cool Water" pack Tim...

Thanksgiving Organization - Without a Filofax

Image
Can you ever have too many organizers?  Probably, but I don't think I have gone that far yet.  When I was thinking about the things that I needed to do for Thanksgiving, I was debating on the best way to start my lists.  I thought about using my Filofax or Day Planner but then I decided that I want to keep track of our Thanksgiving celebrations for years to come.  This way I will be able to keep all my Thanksgiving recipes in one place.  I can also see the place cards that I make so that I don't risk repeating them.  Since I'm getting old and forgetful, I can also keep special memories listed in there.  There's no way that I'm buying a new Filofax for this so it was time to pull out a trusty ole' composition book. I used the following products: Zig Pure Brown, Pure Orange,  and Wheat pens HOTP Fall paper and other Fall paper from my stash Paper Trey ink - Vintage cream cardstock Tim Holtz Holiday Paper Stash, Gathered Twigs and Ripe Persi...

New Release Blog Hop - Altered Canvas

Image
Welcome to the new release blog hop at 3 Girl JAM.  I am so happy to be sharing these new colors today.  If you hopped over from Carri, you are in the right spot.  If you just happened on to my blog today, be sure to head over to see Julie's post here . Now on to my project for today.  I decided that I wanted to alter a canvas.  Though this is not the first canvas that I have altered, it is unlike anything that I have attempted.  I must say that it was quite enjoyable to make and wasn't difficult at all.  My favorite color of all of the new colors is without a doubt Purple Passion.  I decided that I would keep this project for myself. Besides Purple Passion, I also used a lot of other supplies: Canvas board Faber Castell Gelatos Prima - Mixed Media Doll by Julie Nutting Tim Holtz - Black Soot Distress Ink, Old Paper and Dusty Concord Distress Markers, Heartfelt stamp set, Milled Lavender Distress Stickles Studio G - glitter glue ...

Gift Card and Box

Image
This year things were a bit crazy on my husband's birthday.  We both had to work and were very busy.  We decided to wait and celebrate with his birthday dinner until the day after his birthday.  However, I am BIG on doing something on the actual date, so I made this little tag and altered a box to put some treats in for him.  I then had his boss pick it up from me so that it would be waiting when he got to work in the morning.  His day was so crazy that he didn't even have time to open the box or look at the tag so he thought it was from his boss.  Sometimes life just gets TOO BUSY! For the tag, I used: Playing card and Rook card Muse token The Paper Studio - Black & White Doodle hearts paper Fancy Pants - My Family paper Tim Holtz - Playful Journey stamp set Thickers 3 Girl JAM - Antique White Archival Black Ink Paper Trey Inc - Vintage Cream paper Large Tag from the Paper Company Celebrate and Happy Birthday stamps* Wet Wipe * N...

Vintage Grunge Birthday Card

Image
Good morning.  Today I have a card for you that is way outside of my normal box.  I am going to call it "vintage grunge".  I'm not sure how accurate that description is, but we're going to go with it.  This was an experiment for me, so if you watch the video, you will see how this whole thing came about.  Let's get started. Here's what I used to make this birthday card: 3 Girl JAM - Harvest Orange ribbon Paper Trey Ink Kraft card stock Tim Holtz - "Joyful Song" and "The Journey" stamp sets Ink - Black Soot and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks; CTMH - Outdoor Demin ink 7 Gypsies "Your not old..." stamp Foam adhesive Xyron - repositionable adhesive Glitter sprays - True Blue with Pewter Perfect Pearls (home made) and Tattered Angels "Tiger Lilly" Cricut - Art Philosophy cartridge White cardstock to create mask  (Mine was a left-over cut from the Art Philosophy.  See the video for more information.)   How abo...

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 6

Image
Here's what you need to re-create this tag: #8 tag from Ranger Distress Inks - Pumice Stone, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap Tim Holtz Stamps - Joyful Song Perfect Pearls with water spray Holiday Traditions ribbon - Merry Christmas Saying from here. Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge Black cardstock Glossy Accents Scrap of paper for under the 6 Don't forget to link up a tag for the prize.  Doesn't the prize package look like fun? To clarify - the tag or tags you link up do not have to follow the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  Maybe next year I will limit it to this, but I feel that if I am limiting it to this theme, we should have started at the 1st of the month to allow you time to plan who you were going to give your little surprises to.  I want to see LOTS of tags this year though, so I can't wait to see what you make.  I am going to be linking my own tags to make it easier for you to click quickly on to scro...

Image
Hello everyone.  Welcome to another post for 3 Girl JAM.  I must say that I really like today's project.  I designed a new ATC for a swap over at Craft Happens .  I think that the ATC swaps are among my favorite to participate in.  One of the reasons that I like ATC's so much is that they go together very quickly.  So pull out some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, your favorite Christmas paper and stamps and lets get started. Fall ATC's

Image
Hello everyone.  I trust you are having a great day.  I have had a very productive day doing laundry, fixing dinner, mailing packages, taking kids to voice, picking up around the house, and CRAFTING!  Woo hoo for the last one.  I even managed to kind of clean up my crafty space.  Are you interested in what I made today?  I really hope so because I worked on projects for 3 different posts.  Woo Hoo!  So on to project #1 - Fall ATC's. Now if you have followed me for awhile, you might have seen that I have really come to enjoy making ATC's.  I guess they are some of the "little things" that I talk about.   Are you familiar with these?  ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards.  They are cards that you can trade with other people.  They are a standard size - 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" and they are never to be sold.  Other than that, there are very few rules (generally speaking). The ATC's I made this time were actually for a swap at ...

Hello everyone.  I am so happy to be sharing my very first 3 Girl Jam Design Team post with you today.  I needed to make some altered envelopes for a swap over at CraftHappens.net.  I decided to use my favorite 3 Girl Jam ribbon - Witch's Brew - at the same time.  Now I have to admit that I used a lot of products on this one, but don't be intimidated.  Use what you have.  I didn't buy anything special for this project.  I went through my stash and used what I had.  Isn't that a great way to plan a project?  I thought so too.  However, if you don't have any 3 Girl Jam ribbon, you can try it by going to www.3girljam.com Front of the Envelope Here's what I used: 3 Girl Jam ribbon - Witch's Brew Prima - flowers and bling Tim Holtz Distress ink - Antique Linen, Tea Die Tim Holtz stamps - Playful Journey Homemade glitter spray - Perfect Pearls and Metallic Purple Ranger Archival ink - black Tim Holtz word bands Nestabilities - L...

New ATC's and Ramblings

Image
I have to say that there are some exciting things coming up in the next few days.  First of all, I only have 6 more followers to go until I reach 100.  Can you believe it?  Almost there.  I recently cleaned and organized my crafty space and I found a few more items to add to the give-away.  Be sure and tell your friends.  We're almost there! While getting some things ready for a swap at Craft Happens (shh... that post will be coming soon), I realized that I didn't have enough ATC cards to send with the projects.  I decided to whip up a few more.  Here they are: These are similar to my first set, but a bit simpler.  Just wait for some fancy ones coming sometime in the next few weeks!  I can't wait to share those too.  For these I used the following products: Stamps - K. Andrew Designs "Crafty Friends"; Tim Holtz "Joyful Song"; MME "Princess Blush" Paper - scraps from my stash Inks - Ranger Archival Black; Distress inks - ...

Lace Bow Anniversary Card

Image
I trust this finds you all well.  I wanted to share this card with you.  I love the old fashioned feel of this one.  I used Distress Ink (Faded Jeans, Walnut Stain, Black Soot), the Heartfelt stamp set, distress paper, tickets, and a philosophy tag from Tim Holtz.  I used "All in the Family" by K. Andrew Designs, a doily sprayed in yellow shimmer spray, and lace from my stash to help complete the look. The card base was made from PaperTrey Ink Kraft cardstock and the inside finished with more tickets.  Please watch the video for more information.  Thanks for watching and have a great day! I am entering this in the 3 Girl Jam - Beautiful Bows Challenge .
