Treat Bags

Who doesn't enjoy getting a surprise treat?  I know that I do and I bet you might too.  Today, I want to share 2 little treat bags that I made.

The first one was made from a little paper bag that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I love the purple chevron and just knew that I needed to make something with it.  The stamps were from a cute little hostess stamp set that will be retiring at the end of July.  When I saw it, I knew I wanted it.  Can you guess why?  If you are interested in hostessing a gathering so that you could earn this set, I will be happy to set one up for you.  Just email me at djssundries@gmail.com for more information.

Other supplies:
Gold glitter tape from American Crafts
Gold sequins by Mainstays (Walmart)
White and purple cardstock scraps
Smokey Plum Exclusive Ink Pad (found here)
Foam tape

The second little bag is completely different.

Here's what I used:
Ruby Exclusives Ink pad (found here)
Kaboom Stamp Set (CTMH - June Stamp of the Month)
In the Background Stamp set (CTMH - here)
Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (CTMH - here) - Page 61 <circle 5> cut at 1.5"
Gold and blue glitter tape - American Crafts
2" Fiskars circle punch
White and blue scraps from my scrap stash
Clear bags (From Gifts International)
Tim Holtz Tiny Attatcher
Foam tape

Be sure to watch the video where I tell you how to achieve the muted stamping effect used in both of these projects.

Create*Craft*Share YouTube Hop - Make Something Out of Your Mess

It's time for another YouTube Hop and I am so excited to be a part of it.  This month we are making something by using the stuff in our crafty space that is out of place.  I have pictures in my video that shows part of the mess I am currently living with.  I decided to create a project that not only used out of place items, but that would enable me to begin organizing the mess.  You will have to let me know what you think.  Be sure to hop along the other 7 stops.  I can't wait to see the fabulous projects these ladies created.  There will be some prizes along the way as well.

Quick Mini Journal

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are having a great day.  I also really hope that you aren't sick of seeing altered notebooks from me.  There is actually a little story behind this one.  I have been a bit swamped lately and running behind in projects that I need to get done.  Friday morning for the real world was actually "Monday" for me this past weekend.  It was day 1 of 3 days of 12+ hour shifts.  My plan was to come home Friday night and get the project for today made and posted.  I had a general plan on what I was going to make until I made it home that night.

I have been shadowed by a nursing student during 6 of my last 9 shifts.  She is a great student and I think she will make a fabulous nurse.  She is very organized and always has a little spiral notebook for her notes.  On Friday I realized that she didn't have her notebook and we were using notebook and scrap paper all day.  When I asked about it, she mentioned that she had forgotten it at home.  When she spends her shifts in my town, she doesn't go home, but stays here.  I knew I had to switch up my original posting plans and make her a little book.  She loved it so I was really glad it worked out that way.

Supplies:
3 Girl JAM Aqua Splash crinkle ribbon
Scrap pieces from K & Company
Carribbean twine from The Twinery
Score-tape
We R Memory Keepers - corner chomper and embossed sticker
Echo Park - "Splash" by Bella Road
Mini notebook

Special Offers - Pick a Hostess Party, Workshops on the Go

I have 3 great surprises to offer you today.

Offer #1- Win a Chance to Receive Free Products
I have an Online Gathering scheduled here.  Anyone who places an order under the "Pick a Hostess" Gathering between now and June 28 will be entered into a drawing to receive all the Hostess Benefits.  If the gathering does not meet the $150 gathering minimum, I will provide the random winner with a B-sized stamp set of their choice.  The winner will be notified after midnight on June 29, 2014.  So spread the word and place some orders and you may win big!  If you place a $50 order you can also order the stamp set pictured below for just $5.

Offer #2 - Workshops on the Go Trial Offer
You may have heard me talk about the Workshops on the Go video offer.  What is it?  We gather 6 people who are committed to joining a club for 6 months.  You purchase the Workshop on the Go each month and I provide you with exclusive videos designed to go with the Workshop.  I also provide you with bonus projects to stretch your kit even further.  Not only do you get the videos and the kit, but during the rotation, you will be the "hostess" one time.  As the hostess, you will receive all the hostess benefits with minimal work.  I also have contests between group members with giveaways and mail you occasional surprises.  It is a great value!  For a limited time, anyone who purchases the Lollydoodle Cardmaker Workshop on the Go found here, will receive full access to the workshop videos.*  If you choose to try this out, you may want to pick up the following items that complement the kit - Hollyhock Ink Pad; Pear Ink Pad; Slate Ink Pad; Lagoon Ink Pad; Foam tape (Adding these items to your Workshop order will also qualify you to receive the Stamp of the Month for $5)

*This special offer does not include access to the current contest or the gift that was mailed to those in the current club.

Offer #3 - Workshop on the Go Bonus Offer
Do you have 5 friends that might be interested in the Workshops on the Go?  If you organize a group of 6 people who would like to form a club, I will send you any C-sized stamp set of your choice after the first gathering closes.  What do you need to do?

1. Decide if you want to join a Scrapbooking Club or a Cardmaking Club
2. Find 5 other friends who are willing to commit with you to form a club.  They can live near you or be scattered all over the country.  That's the beauty of online Workshops.
3. Send me their email addresses ASAP so that I can send all the information, including the Commitment sheet, so that I can be ready to set up your Gathering on July 1st.

I will then send the information and set up your first Workshop Gathering (You can choose to host in July or defer this to another month.  If you choose to defer, just let me know which month you wish to host and we will name one of the other group members the 1st hostess.).  Videos go live on the 15th of each month so I would need to close the Gathering around the 10th.

Close To My Heart Thursday - Timberline Love Card

I wanted to make a special card for my husband when the inspiration for this card came to me.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make when my eyes fell on a scrap from the Timberline Collection from Close To My Heart.  The piece was a cut I had made from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge from another project.  I had also been working on the Lollydoodle Cardmaker's Workshop on the Go and found the perfect stamp set.  Unfortunately, this stamp set is currently only available if you purchase the workshop, but I must say that it is a great kit.  As it ended up, all the paper for this card was from my scraps or old Cricut cuts.  Woo Hoo!  I love using up my leftovers.

Close to my Heart Supplies Used:
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
Timberline Paper Pack
Lagoon Exclusives Cardstock
Lagoon Exclusive Ink
Slate Exclusive Ink
Lollydoodle Card Maker's Workshop on the Go (I only used the stamp set)
Durables Triangle Studs

Other products used:
White Scrap pieces of paper
Foam tape
ATG

Handmade Organizer for Card Pieces

Do you ever have so many pieces to a project that you are afraid that you are going to lose some?  Maybe you like to mass produce cards for special occasions and just want to keep the pieces you are working on safe from getting lost.  I have come up with a simple solution for you.  No, this is not for long-term storage as it does not close on all sides.  This is more to keep your pieces sorted while you are cutting.  It is simple to make and can be decorated to show your style.

Here's what you will need:
2 pieces of 12X12 cardstock.  I used CTMH White Daisy for the outside.  Ivy Lane or Skylark Reflections Scrapbook Paper where used on the inside.  I cut the inner piece to 11.5X11.5.  You could add additional pages if you are making more complicated cards with lots of cuts.
Bakers Twine (I used twine from the Twinery)
Lagoon and Pear Exclusives Inks
Believe in Yourself and  Hopscotch Alphabet stamp sets

Since I didn't get a picture of these, I hope you take a few minutes to stop by and watch the video.

Scrap Your Stash 4X4 Card Challenge

I am so excited to be sharing these little cards with you today.  Why?  Because they were made using scraps.  Even the card bases and the liners were made from scraps.  The embellishments and the ribbons were the only things that weren't from my scrap stash.  Now here's the real challenge:

Don't just make 1 card, but make a set of 4 coordinating cards out of scraps.

Could you do it?  I challenge you to try.  It's a great way to push your imagination while using up your supplies.  I really hope you will give it a shot.

Mini Message Boards

Good morning.  I hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoyed a good weekend.  I was so inspired by Scrappin' Abby's Memo Board last week that I wanted to make some of my own.  I decided to use some great 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make them just my style.

The new Flair and Flower Bundle were just what I needed to make my little boards.  All I had to do was add some extra ribbon from the new Tie Dye 1 and Tie Dye 2 bundles to make them perfect for my treasures.

I started out by purchasing some cork tiles from my local Joann's store.  These were 12 inch tiles, but I wanted circles.

So I set up the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut a circle to use as a pattern.  Using fit-to-page, I was able to create a pattern to use to cut my circles.  I then took some muslin to cover the cork by using hot glue to adhere it to the back.  Next came the fabulous flower ribbon for decoration and a hanger.  I decided to do each one a little differently for more variety.

Using ribbon from each Tie Dye bundle, I made little bows to adhere to the front.  Flair finished off the center of each bow perfectly.  If you look close, you can see that I used Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks around the outer edges to add a little punch of color.  Each one was finished by adding a piece of card stock to the back of each to hide all the fabric and ribbon edges.

I now have the perfect place to add my treasures using my collection of stick pins.  This was actually a pretty simple project and I can't wait to get them all hung and filled.

How about a video?

Have you checked out the 3 Girl JAM store?  If not, you definitely should.  If you use the code "CP10", you can even get a discount.
